Their coverage is the best in terms of area bro (Especially in rural areas), you can get bsnl signal to the farthest corners of the country

Villages near Pakistan not getting signal.

Can You Elaborate ?

BSNL also provide broadband connections so it has to share its internet bandwidth(aka all the internet traffic generated by bsnl network) between its mobile network & broadband network because bandwidth is allotted to entire bsnl. If a person watch youtube video on mobile & another person watch same video on their bsnl broadband connection then bsnl bandwidth is being shared by both these two persons.

Just got a BSNL Sim for testing out.
My Observations after 6 hours:

Pros:

  • Speed I’m getting is good in my area on BSNL 3G 12Mbps (https://i.imgur.com/SGg1S...pg).
Jio at the same time is giving 7.7Mbps. I believe this is due to Jio being overcrowded.
  • I had to pay 108, which will give me 1gb/day for 28 days. 250 minutes offnet calls free. Validity will remain for 90 days.
  • The 250 mins offnet is a great value since currently all networks has gone data based, I personally do not need much data as I get unlimited High speed wifi at home and office.
  • I will appreciate the eKYC process and the cooperativeness of the CSC. It took me just few minutes to walk out with the SIM and it got activated within 2 hours.
  • Pricewise I believe BSNL will be the cheapest for few months at least. Post that they will probably be forced to raise the price since they will get privatised or get some pressure from the private players.

Cons:

  • Callcenter was horrible, be ready to wait for 20 minutes if you need any help
  • The mobile APP is almost useless.
  • Finding out my data balance and call balance was very tough. Have found a cumbersome USSD to do that.

Currently BSNL looks VFM.

The vendors..
say the company to whom customer care, name tunes recording, tower maintenance work are outsourced.. are being forced to shift out of states not fully under the same company/government as at the centre.
So.. let’s say, the same old centre in Gujarat (presently with limited staff).. is now handling 4-5 states.
perhaps the same is with the Cust Care for your circle too.. who knows.
Previously, calls from even a Voda, Airtel, Reliance ADAG number would connect to a human in 2-3 minutes after IVR.
maybe once Gujarat has enough jobs (to show to the electorate) or when Shah and sons and friends corner those contracts.. staffing should improve.

@rajrocks sir hope you got chat pings
.
Plan migration via USSD or self care SMS may not be possible but auto renewal is 100% possible.
.
also @mastervijay hope you see this post.. if previous plan voucher (PV) ..like if that netsham or whatever, is discontinued.. past midnight it would renew to whatever is set as alternative in their system.
(if main bal. is available)
.
I don’t think 74/75 are there in AP😔..nor 153 giving 180 days + 1 month.. like in other circles.

.
@syed786 sir all PV can and do autorenew from main balance.. if it is available.
Change of plan using self care sms .. may or may not be possible.
unsure how it was done (forgot the formats).
