The morons are going backwards. Used to recharge for 2 day unlimited data for Rs.55 on BSNL EDVO in case of excessive data need. Now, they have block the recharge even before payment page, ’It’s not a valid BSNL recharge’. Freecharge didn’t have the plans earlier, recharged once and got Rs.50 as balance complained to freecharge but no use.

Finally, after a lot of arguments with BSNL people, I today bought a CDMA card for 40 INR. Now these people told me that If I wanted EVDO, I would have to pay 350 INR activation charge for EVDO but I told them that there are no such charges as per my knowledge. So they just gave me a prepaid CDMA sim card and told me to do televerification after 2 days, following which my sim card will be activated but I won’t be able to use Internet(They said it would useless if I didn’t activate it by paying 350 INR). So I am confused as to whether they are bluffing(I strongly think so) or I will really not be able to use the net through it? Secondly, I don’t have a CDMA dongle or a CDMA mobile to do televerification. So is there any other way to do it? Please I request all dimers who read this informative thread to come forward and help me with these queries. Especially @thrifty_indian @vinaythewanted
Actually EVDO activation charge is Rs.350 but I get it for free, pay only for the sim. But if they are asking for activation then you have pay.
I have paid 40 INR and bought the sim. But do u mean that I won’t be able to use EVDO on it unless I pay 350 INR activation charge. Why are you getting it for free and they are charging me. It’s unfair on bsnl’s part.
BSNL personnel are not well versed with their own services and rules. Hence, all round the country you would find different rules for the same kind of service.
Buddy. Thanks for your comments but I think You didn’t get my question : If I don’t pay 350, will they not allow me to use EVDO? DO they do any extra process to activate EVDO if I pay 350 INR?

Is it good to buy this modem http://www.ebay.in/itm/ZTE-AC2746-3G-CDMA-USB-M...
In the description it is written that it doesn’t support bsnl evdo but another seller selling the same zte ac 2746 modem says it supports bsnl evdo here http://www.ebay.in/itm/New-ZTE-AC2746-CDMA-3G-U...
No it won’t work with BSNL EVDO. It doesn’t have a RUIM slot. The ‘BAM’ model has a RUIM slot.
No Thrifty bhai this one too has sim slot. There are few ac2746 which have slotss and few of them don’t have.

No won’t be able to. Your sim must be registered at their system to access the EVDO network.

@thrifty_indian EVDO tower is approx 2.5 KM ( road distance of google map) straight distance is less. Do you think it will work? I was suggested not to get EVDO. They says speed is less… what do you suggest?
can someone else using EVDO please post download speed screenshots?

You are lucky to get good network. I got awesome speed for a day and then everything dried up. Relaince CC isn’t helpful and no bsnl here. Have ordered a booster antenna.

You should get atleast 1Mbps.
Username: The last ten number of the SIM (written behind the sim) 9180******@aaako.in (‘ko’ here is for kolkatta circle, similarly ‘nd’ for Noida circle…find out what’s it for your circle)
Password: The last ten number of the SIM (written behind the sim)
e.g.,
Username: [email protected]
Password: 9180123456
You can use
Username: 165
Password: 165 but it won’t work when you are in roaming. For using it anywhere Pan-India use the previous one.

Looks like a serial port error. Try reinstalling your modem and use different dashboards.
freerecharge also not working now

some evdo recharge denominations changed from 6 OCT 2015.
you recharged for which plan?
Those with Zte Ac2746. Cqn you please look into your crc9 port if any pin or something is there inside. As I cant see anything in my MTS ZTE AC2746. The Crc9 port would be there in all ac2746 irrespective of the branding?

No it won’t work with BSNL EVDO. It doesn’t have a RUIM slot. The ‘BAM’ model has a RUIM slot.

The mts zte 2746 doesn’t have sim slot. The sim slot has to be soldered to it. The seller told me it supports Bsnl but I haven’t tried.
