So recently I upgraded to new phone and wanted to sell my old one plus 6 device and listed it for sale on OLX
I got 2 very strange queries both of em were demanding for IMEI NUMBERS and PCB number
They said they want to check something online before visiting me personally.
I gave IMEI number to one but when he demanded for PCB no(which i didn’t give) I suspected something fishy.
I even asked him what kind of fraud you are trying to do ?
In response he said first give me the PCB no I’ll tell later.
Does anyone of you ever dealt with such scam?
I am still wondering what was his prime motive with imei number and PCB number.
I tried googling but couldn’t find much info except cloning of device.
if you have any knowledge about this new fraud do share it with me here.

I have also demanded imei no. as it helps to track service history if done from company service center as many sellers lie about it
But I don’t buy costly item specially electronic from there.
And actually scammers it’s full of it.
BTW, you gave dimers a way to loot 
yes they will generate fortnite codes from it .
You can generate code from any OnePlus account
It is not necessary that the code must be generated from the one plus account to which IMEI and PCB number belong to.
agreed ! you just need IMEI and PCB Number. Account doesn’t matter.
Though I don’t know where in international market they are selling it for $10-15
even i faced the same just for that game they asked imei pcb
is this particular scam related to only One Plus Mobiles or all 
Only OnePlus. Since only they are offering these codes.

I think imei no is asked to check whether it’s real or stolen.. but whats pcb? 1st time hearing this term. what is that used for?
EVEN I GOT SAME MSG , N ALSO I SHARED IMEI AND PCB. But i was not knowing that they’ll do something wrong, so I shared it to him. So after he blocked me. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? WILL IT CREATE ANY ISSUE / PROBLEM FOR ME? DO ANYONE HAVE IDEA? PLZ REPLY ME….
I guess it’s for Fortnite code.
I just uploaded my ad to sell my one plus and instantly got 4 queries asking for my imei and pcb number which I refused to give still figuring out what will they do with these details…

I’m also listed for sell my OnePlus 6 on OLX nd someone Demanding pcba number nd imei number i gave imei number nd he demand for pcb number to find out phone is fake or not then i say no to him I’m scared I already gave him imei number i thought a hacker then I said him please wait for a moment then I go to telegram nd go to OnePlus 6 group nd tell some guys in group I share screen shot of chat nd they are laughing nd said fortnite skin 😅😅😅
Nothing will happen. They just used it to earn 200-400 bucks. I also deal in this. Although i am not so selfish to take it for free.

I just gave away my IMEI number and PCB number how dumb I am I got tricked by an fortnite user. Did I get into any trouble because I shared my IMEI number and pcb code
Why is OLX blocking accounts of the naïve sellers?
Can you get arrested by using someone’s IMEI and PCBA for that Fortnite emote?
Yes I also faced same issue .. 2 users asked me for*#06# and *#888#. I did not give them…
