Oxytocin use in food supply chain

So around six years back the high courts shot down the (government's) rules to restrict the sale of oxytocin and even projected it as based on unscientific assumptions, claims.

It is common knowledge that during pregnancy, labour, child birth
oxytocin plays a key role.

Hence a blanket ban on its availability was deemed unfeasible.

But earlier, since July 2018, the government made it illegal to locally sell oxytocin for retail use and the laws made in April 2018 made it illegal for it to be given to milch animals.

There was a clear case made out of how the dairy farmers and industry misused it to increase yield.

Now however the same courts have taken cognizance of the rampant use of oxytocin by the dairy industry and want action to be taken.
