Padmavati row: Karni Sena threatens to chop off Deepika Padukone’s nose
After physically assaulting Padmavati director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the Shri Rajput Karni Sena has threatened the film’s heroine, Deepika Padukone. Mahipal Singh Makrana, president of Rajasthan unit of the outfit, said that they would not hesitate to chop Deepika’s nose like Shurpanakha (Shurpanakha was a character in the Ramayana whose nose was chopped off by Lakshmana).

Hadd ho gayi yeh toh! Ban kyun nahin kar dete movie ko jaldi se? Meri train ki tickets cancel karwayenge yeh log bas aur kuch nahin! Har saal December-January mein hi koi naa koi Aandolan chalu karwa dete hein.. Kabhi Aaloo, Kabhi Pyaaz, Kabhi Aarkshan, Kabhi Ganaa, Kabhi notebandi.. Abki baar yeh Bhansali.. Holi ke baad kar lena yeh sab, summer mein sabke pasine nikal jaate hein kya.. Sardi ke travelling ka mazaa kharaab kar dete hein har baar! Bloody hell.. Padmavati makers defer film’s release amid controversy
The proposed release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been deferred, the makers of the film said on Sunday.
In a statement to PTI, a spokesperson of Viacom18 Motion Pictures said it had taken the decision ‘voluntarily’.

this movie will help BJP in chest thumping and show developments
and according to me karni sena and other should allow to release this movie .
if it is nothing wrong then ok .
even if it is objectionable then let people see how bollywood treat idols of a particular community …

Decision on Padmavati release only after Gujarat elections
There is no likelihood of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s beleaguered epic being released in December. The producers have decided to wait until the Gujarat elections before taking a call on a release date. “We won’t even announce a release date until the elections,” says a source from the Padmavati team.
Apparently the “instruction” to hold the release until the crucial elections has come from the ruling party’s high command. So when is the eagerly-anticipated film likely to be released?
Well, if you insist on knowing we are looking at early January. If you look at the January schedule there is only major release, and that’s PadMan. So January looks like a good time to release Padmavati,” says a source close to the film.
In the meanwhile selected shows with leaders of political outfits are also being planned. “We plan to have selected screenings as soon the CBFC certifies the film,” says the source. Viacom 18 intends to invite the Prime Minister to watch the same.
