Recently during my passport police verification I had to pay my 1st bribe(chai -pani)
I saw multiple instances online and paid to avoid trouble (To avoid visits to PSK potentially wasting my precious 4+ Hours)
The police personal had a list with potential 10,000 bribe for a day.
How should I report this guy anonymously?
WTF govt gave supreme power to such cheap/irresponsible people
Anonymously you can give feedback at passport gov in website.
Being gen z, it is suggestible to take stand only if you have evidence of transaction i.e. currency note numbers, video, audio etc. i hope you behaved like gen z and have above to prove.
I did tried recording audio but had to turn it off since policeman requested to see some Id on mobile.(Nowadays it's easier to identify if background service is using mic/camera)
Currency note not easily identifiable/traceable in case of micro-bribes.

My dude didn't say anything but my passport was stuck at pending status. I just sent an email mentioning in subtle language that I didn't pay any bribe & it's stuck.

Nothing can be done. My passport renewal request is in pending state at regional passport office in Patna because they want bribe. Will visit in few days and see how much they will ask. It's a corrupt system and nothing can be done..
100 at nearest passport office
1000 was taken for police verification
Now they will take 5000 at regional office
And I need passport so I had to pay eventually.🤕🤕
Just lodge a complaint if you have all the documents with you. No need to pay the bribe.

If you want a govt service, you have to pay a bribe, even if you have everything in order.
You cannot take a passport without giving a bribe to a p*liceman.
For this exact reason, I delay getting a passport till this day out of principle.
P*lice verification can be easily automated in this day and age. I don't understand why the govt won't do it.

Bribe is something that's encoded in DNA of human beings and instead of complaining.... you should really be thankful that you know and capable of ways to get things done.

Bureaucratic Manhole exists in this country. Sometimes actions are taken to teach this "Babu Mera Chor He" but as one bad apple rots the system, so there r many sitting in top position who worked hard to get that post "just to accept bribes"

A police officer came to my home for passport verification and refused to take any chai paani after learning i am from IIT K. (Apparently there was a complaint sometime back from an alumni which gave them a tough time)
In my case, in 2021, he took Anti diabetes tablets from my father as bribe🤣..
Mere paas to video record bhi hai.. 400 rupya lene ka..auto recorded in mi camera.... Par kaun musibat le.. kahi ka kahi fasa dega..system aisa hona chahiye ki recording is allowed on any government offices..legally.. chori chori recird karna matlab ye bhi crime hua..xd
Govt employees ki chalti hai. Paid many times. Even contractual employees also takes bribe on the name of senior

Iss desh mein log malls, shopping complex aur branded stores pe extra pay kar dete hai. Aur small business pe mol bhav karte hai. Aise jaahil log desh ka uddhar karenge. Jinki khud ki galti se online recharge pending ya wrong recharge ho jaye. But dukaan pe jab tak sms nahi aayega. Paisa nahi dega..

In India whistle blower policy is very poor if you complaint against person X to person Y that Y will gonna reveal your name to person X and lifetime rivalry starts. In my opinion do not complain because you paid bribe to policeman okay.
My friend is an IPS officer and I know closely how police and system works so leave it buddy no point

Agree its wrong on his part but if he knows abt your complaint.... be prepared to risk it all.... life / career / family etc.... State vs you sounds good only in movies... real life is different...

IPS Friend told me easy process
They will gonna beat one charsi and gonna ask him who provided you charas and that charsi will gonna take your name in court and than they will put you in jail and it will gonna take few months and years for you to get out from jail

When i was called for p verification, he said chai Pani, i offered 100₹ only, he said itne mai thodi hoga kuch, i said mai student ho isse jada nhi ho layega, same chej 3 baar repeat ki or phir kisak gya dheere dheere.

Just accept it and move on. Don't be patriotic and end up losing your mental health. This is reality. Be ready to pay without hesitation. Literally everyone tries to rob our money right from shopkeepers/street vendors to top officials. Pay and have peace of mind. You will understand this by your 30s.

It's best to apply for passport as a student living in the campus hostel. I had applied for my passport few years ago from my hostel like some of my friends. For a few, police verification was done (100 chai pani) and for the rest of us there was no police verification. We kept tracking our status and it went from under process to police verification pending to approved within 3 weeks from application and by the end of month we had our passports in our hands😂
I paid a bribe of Rs.50 thousand to some officer to get 1 crore in bank.. i was successful in it..
I guess that's why movies like 'Nayak' or 'Mudhalvan' are still relevant today. After visiting government offices, I watch 'Nayak' to detox myself.
My first bribe was also for the passport last year. Actually I wouldn't have paid anything, but I had given old address which was my grandparents home and I didn't actually live there. I was too lazy to get any address proof changed to my actual home. The stupid guy who had come to verify cross investigated my uncle for money. The whole road would have attested that I lived there and my uncle took him to a shopkeeper and neighbour aunty as well who said I did live there. Anyway, I went to police station next day and gave 500rs to make him shut up. The approval police women would have approved without any money since they were doing their job properly with other people who had applied for passport in the station. I small talked with them. Lots of avenues to take bribes are being shut down by the govt.
This is why where bribes can still be taken, the amount has been going up a lot. Last week I paid 50k for a fking 3 phase electricity meter connection to the contractor and idk why it has to cost so much. And you NEED a contractor for that. Pretty sure he took more money than the BESCOM bribe itself. Anyway BESCOM electricity and fixed charges are a scam in itself.
