i have wealth since more than an year but they always ask for card fee
i although do have the basic icici cc with ample limit since years, so i'm really not sure why i am not getting any free upgrade

Not a single offer. No use of icici wealth account
It's a good savings account with pretty good personal loan offers and an excellent customer support to back it up. I actually can't think of any other Indian bank at present to match it currently with all the features it offers you. Sbi comes a close second though a hit or a miss as it doesn't offer wealth account in all cities. Hdfc bank is just good in the books.
Icici bank was never the one to go looking for credit cards ever except for initial 1 - 2 years of Emeralde launch.
So they upgrade to wealth account if your icici cc limit is > 5 lacs ?
They used to do it before Covid-19 time. I think they stopped doing it now.
