[Personal Experience] SBI Cashback Card Approved after Application Declination

So this started almost a month back, there was so much hype around SBI CASHBACK Card in September starting. Just like everyone else, I was hyped and applied for the card before Amazon Sale. I am an existing SBI SimplyClick holder with SBI savings account since 8 years. I have same as my salary account and with a good credit score as well. However, SBI was blindly declining applications for those who already had existing SBI SimplyClick Card. I decided to not leave until they approve my card. The process initially was smooth, 2 verification calls, eSign, one more call but then sudden declined message.
I approached SBI Customer Care, they didn't have any idea. Secondly, I approached Nodal Officer stating I got reason for declination as 'You are an existing Card Holder' and on the other hand you guys call me for getting a second SBI Card occassionally and within the app too. So there's a contradiction there, I have a pre approved "second" card offer and you are stating I cannot get another card. Update your policy if existing card holder cannot get another card. I forwarded this to Principal Nodal Officer and they restarted my application and it's approved now

P.S - Just don't give up and state your legit reasons in full detail and no one can stop you, not even SBI

Update: I'm hearing that SBI now is automatically restarting the applications for SBI SimplyClick holders so you might just get lucky and get auto approval now after a final call. Check pre approved card option in app and see if it says your application is in consideration and decision will be taken in 2 days. If not, you can try reaching out to CS again.

it was already showing in progress in sbicard website under new card section from last 1 month, even after rejection
but when i track appliction status directly it says rejected... also previously complained to pno and cshead but they all said same thing "due to internal policy " rejected.. they did 2 cibil hit during 17 days of application and still rejected
so the people who are getting approval after rejection.. did you receive any verification calls or cibil hit again or did you got approval automatically..

but this card is now like ApayICICI and will be excluded in all sales so that 10+5 benefit is dream now
1. First call before KYC
2. e-KYC from Link
3. Verification Call after KYC confirming details
4. E-Signature form sent on email/message. You have to sign there and upload Aadhaar XML.
5. Card Status messages (11 days, 9 days, 5 days)
6. Final Verification call if card is almost approved (which I got after restarted application)
7. Card Approval Message and Email
1-5 steps were done before declination. My application resumed from 6th step after complaint.

Just checked the status again, and it's changed to 'Your SBI Card Application is in progress. We will get back to you soon.'.
Earlier the status was something like 'rejected'.

90 days since last card will be over this weekend... should I take a try through sprint?
Also app doesn't show "get new card" maybe because cool-off period isn't over yet...

I had 2 SBI cards till earlier, simplyclick and prime with separate limits. I closed the prime few months back. applied for the cashback card which has come with 10K limit and shared with the simplyclick card. What's the use of a card with 1k+ fees and 10K limit. Are they joking? It's a sure shot closure before the renewal comes. Is there a way to increase the card limit? I have enough limit on the simplyclick card, if they want to split.

PS - Card feels cheap, doesn't feel like a premium card. Even SimplyClick Card Quality is better

So after one and half month later…
Yesterday morning got a call from sbi and in the evening i can guess that my card was approved (on sbicard webite login, in new card section saying “you have issued a new card in last 90 days”)
Today morning last 4 digits showing in sbi card app then some hours later approval message and virtual card message came..
Already done some transactions today..
By ila, checked physical dispatch status, it’s dispatched today ( too fast process)
One more thing status on sbicard website’s track status and sprint still showing rejected and in sbicard app get new card section “in progress”.
Applied in first week of sept..
Physical kyc and all televerifications even from head office completed…
Received 11 days message.. then gets rejected..
Complained to pno and even cs head but no help
