PG Queries and Suggestions...Please?

I'll move into a PG within a week, still searching for a good one now. The most basic things that I have been filtering my options with are:

• A boys' only PG/room
• Basic amenities like fan, lights, gas stove, cupboard (if possible)
• A good locality (I know the areas, so I also understand which area is not-so good to live at)
  
• Food availability (if possible...if not, I'm learning to cook now and I can at least prepare a decent enough meal)

Now, since this is my first time looking for a PG, I know that I must be missing some key points to look at. So, please help me with such things that I need to ask/make sure before moving into one. The average PG costs around 5-6K where I live, and my budget allows me to spend that much.
