A friend has transferred money to wrong upi in phonepe. The Banking name is same in both upi handles and therefor confusion occurred.
Clicked on PhonePe support. It showed that one should contact the bank.

Should the complaint be filed under wrong transfer ? I have read here on DD that possibility of getting money back is more if filed under merchant transaction.
REMOVED is the wrong upi handle.
Is it possible to know the mobile number associated with it ?
Sent a message note to transfer back the money with Re. 1 transfer.
What else one can do ?

Ab bechara woh fasega.
Even a Few Months Back, My Father Transferred Money 750Rs to the Wrong Person from UPI, he didn't even see the banking name! When contacted the person his number was not recharged so,after few days I left the hope!
But,even bank cant help us in this situation, I told my father that it is a lesson that we have to check banking name from next time
Banks always help you. Sab gawar engineers log banking ki padai kar k bank me ghush jate hai kam karne ko toh sahi se help milega kaha se. 😜
Bank k higher levels pe contact karo woh log hamesa help karega ya phir bank manager se.
kuch months pahele ek bande ko Union bank RuPay credit card nahi de raha tha. sab try kar liya, last me Union bank k head branch and Union bank CEO ko mail kiya tab ja kar unlogo ne sahi se reply diya and card na mile ka reason bataya.
Anyways UPI k UDIR system me already bahot banks live ho gaye hai. Ab direct UPI transaction dispute kar raise kar sakte ho koi bhi UPI apps se, banks se. Dhire dhire saare banks and 3rd party apps add ho jayega.
So, there are still some good souls who really care about honesty... and sending note/comment with 1re transfer was a nice idea.
Now, be a good soul and update the bank with these developments so that that good soul won't fall in trouble otherwise people ll think 10 times before helping another troubled soul.
That's why it's very important to customize upi ids jjxxxx (Birthdate in DD/MM) in my case followed by different upi handle.
So these mistakes won't happen if everyone starts implementing anything like these.
