Notarised sale deeds cost that much more, so I think it can be avoided,
as the item is not a vehicle or any such thing that can create a liability later.
Like how in case of an accident or if later the vehicle is found to have been used for terror attacks.
Such liabilities should not arise with a dumbwatch.
At most the buyer can insist on some police verification of the invoice or the seller.
That way, there is a direct record created i the police department.
While you can make the buyer feel thT it is for their safety that proof of purchase (an invoice) is being vetted by the police,
in reality YOU will be saved if tomorrow the new owner sends any vulgar messages or d¡ ¢ķ pi cs to anyone or uses the watch to tweet or post anything improper.
(You can always claim you have police as the witness that you sold it. Besides ofcourse the e-mails, calls, messages with the buyer.)
