Hey peeps,
my trusty old Samsung A50 seems to be on its last legs. It served me so faithfully since July 2019 but now it's pretty laggy and the camera hasn't been sharp in quite some time already. SMSes are delayed by hours, picking and ending calls is slow, phone call audio is weak, touch isn't as responsive. I love love loved it so much haha. The battery life is still killer. Do you think a factory reset would make it snappier? I would love to stretch it out until Oct 2024 (better deals then anyway haha).
I don't really use my phone a TON, but I do use it for work/business phone calls, WhatsApp, listening to music/podcasts etc. Not sure if I need an amazing camera or not. We have an old LG G8X for that anyway. I mean it wouldn't hurt to have a nice camera but it's not at all a big priority. I do appreciate in-built call recording though.
Not sure what my budget is. I bought my current phone for 16500 iirc. So somewhere under 20-25k would be ideal. I fell into the trap of checking out the iPhone 11 because I have a Macbook but I'm not sure if I want to fork out 43k for a phone lol. My computer is where I do most of my work, so it doesn't make sense to me to pay a large amount of money for a phone which is only a secondary gadget in terms of importance and won't last more than 4-5 years anyway. The A50 was total value for money.
No Poco/Xiaomi/Oppo etc etc please

Full reset will help to greater extent in making ur phone faster.
i also suggest you to shift into custom rom like lienageOS or other lighter OS model. They tend to make phones faster and also give u atleast 2 years for ur old phone without any problem.
Problem is to change ROM you need to have a bit of technical knowledge (but can be easy by following youtube tutorials and forums of that OS)
There's decent custom ROM development for this device.
Exynos 9610 was heavily outdated to begin with. Even the highest 6GB RAM variant is inadequate in OneUI however even 4GB is doable in AOSP.
Upgrade to f34/m34 by samsung.
no oppo vivo means you don't have much option apart from Samsung.
Ye log pouch ke apna time waste karte jabki ye log final yahi brand ka phone lene wale hai
Has experience of many years out of 10 people only 1 or 2 change only if they had bad experience with current phone
Slow down is usually caused by battery,i suggest get it repaired by authorised shop
That is an Apple exclusive "feature". Android devices don't slow down CPU clockspeeds ever if the battery is on its way out.
Go with moto edge 40 which is available at ~25k during sales.
P.S. Don't buy iPhone 11.
Opt for s23. It'll come down to 35k easily in the upcoming bbd or look some offers at Samsung store. You'll get maximum benefits
Try full reset or
Also, try custom roms as you mentioned the battery is still good
No Poco/Xiaomi/Oppo etc etc please...
Why ?
Good things about Poco/Xiaomi
- no cheating on hardware
- Affordable battery. It took 600 rupees to get a new battery without service charges.
- Best after sales value
Otherwise please don't ask us for suggestions. Take another Samsung. https://amzn.eu/d/g...OS this should serve you right.
Idk but I don't like/trust the Chinese brands. I bought a Mi camera for my home and they stopped support (recording on my phone) after 2 years.
https://www.flipkart.com/flipkart/p/item?pid=MO... this one is hella cheap right now at 9077. Could use it for 1.5-2 years then get something amazing. What do y'all think?

I am having same thoughts as of OP , and using Samsung M30s since 2019.. its working smoothly and battery life is also great. Can you tell me after a year from now ,iff this phone starts lagging, then which custom ROM I can use
Check reddit/xda sites. U get many options and also device specific review.
