Poor refund policy by seller on Amazon

My sister had bought a massager(Omron) from Shopping Deals through Amazon. When she tried to return it, they asked us to send back the product by courier as they did not have a pick up policy. This is understandable.

However, they insisted on charging a hefty Rs. 410/- as shipping and handling charges with in the same city . This is outright cheating . I checked with others sellers on Amazon website( Eg. Trend Shoppe on Amazon charges about Rs. 75 for shipping a similar product(Massager Omron).

If it costs around Rs.75/- to ship it to my place, why should they delete Rs. 410/- as shipping charges for a refund. They take advantage of the fact that you want to return the product and hence delete whatever amount they want from your original price.

Please avoid buying products from Amazon if they are being sold by other sellers indirectly on Amazon.

It is is my opinion that Amazon should keep a limit as to how much the seller can delete before refunding the amount. Otherwise such experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the customer. Such a policy will surely prevent customers from buying from Amazon as a whole. I know for a fact that my sister will never buy ANYTHING from Amazon again( she had a loss of Rs. 500 for a product worth around Rs. 3000)

Terrible experience.Will avoid buying form Amazon in future.Do not want to be made a fool like my sister.
