The Jan Aushadhi initiative makes available quality drugs at affordable prices through dedicated stores selling generic medicines which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.
..My opinion...if you taking medicine for cold cough or fever ( which i personally avoid taking medicine) go for generic medicines....but if its serious issue then go for brands and new formulae....

Have you tested personally? What about the efficacy?

Yes dear, me and my family totally used only generic medicines (from last 2 years) by Pradhanmantri jan aushadhi kendra, medicines are fully effective like other brands.

I looked over the list, and all heart-related medications are 80% less expensive.
But using generic medications might put my loved ones' lives at risk.

These meds are purportedly tested by NABL accredited labs but it's better to avoid them for more serious conditions. The meds I have bought so far have been manufactured by mostly small companies and a cursory Google search hasn't been helpful.
