How are you planning to fit 7 people in Nexon?

5 in rear? 🤔

Thank you so much for sharing your opinion.

Do you think Nexon Base Model at 8,58,000 is a good deal ? Considering it doesn't have power windows and all the other necessary features ?

I’ll be honest with you, when I started planning about buying my first car my budget was 7-8 lakhs and i was only looking at hatchbacks. Baleno and Altroz were the two i was eyeing at.

Then i saw Nexon and Brezza and suddenly i was also looking at compact SUV. I looked at Nexon, Brezza, Ecosport mid variant and Skoda Kushaq base variant.

I was a bit confused between hatchback and compact SUV and it really took to 2 3 months of pondering between the two. 1000+ of review videos and what not.

Finally i went with XZ+ ex showroom 995000 and on road 11.11 Lakh with registration+Insurance+30K worth accessories. i was a Tata Group Employee so i got a better discount plus i guess i did negotiate better coz my friend a couple of months back had bought the same variant for 11.05 Lakh without any accessories at all and insurance from outside.

Quick Tip: Insurance from dealership is mostly quoted at higher price compared to directly from insurance companies but it just helps you build relationship with the dealership since you’re adding to their business and if you plan on using the same dealership for future services then it’s better to maintain relationship with them and the trick is that get the best quote you can directly from insurance companies and ask the dealership to match it, 100% times they will match that quote!! So you don’t even pay more and always keep a tight relation with the dealership, I also get a lot washing and service coupons on Insurance renewal so i guess it’s better from the dealership.

Anyways coming to your question, what I realised from my experience is that you need to narrow it down to your needs than look at the which is better of the two.

Ask these questions to yourself and your family if they have a say in it:

Do you need more spacious seating/boot space?

Does CNG bring in the value to your needs in the longer run?

Or maybe you also want the fun to drive 118bhp 170 nm torque engine?

Do you really care about power windows and music systems?

If you plan on getting music system are you okay with getting it done after market or are you fine paying more for an upper variant?

I cannot answer whether Nexon base variant is a good deal for you at 8.5 lakh or not. In my case I would rather spend more and grab Nexon pure since i value company fitted accessories and features more than market fitted and i do find the need of these features but if you do not care and do not mind the compromise then the base variant at 8.5 lakh is an amazing deal!

Overall yes Nexon base variant at 8.5 lakh is value for money no doubt but is it best for you or not can only be answered by you yourself

- Personal use.

- Monthly Office Travel is around 500km.

- One highway trip to hometown almost 500km trip.

- 6-7 Adult Family Members.

- 4 CNG Pumps in 20km radius. (Checked cng pumps on google maps. bad reviews of all the cng pump complaining no cng, long queue. etc.)

Both are different segment....

What's your main use ?

How many people in your family?

CNG pump availability in your area ? And queue over there ?

I would say go with Nexon. My cousin bought XZ+ for 12.5 (Pre facelift). We had compared Punch also , and I feel punch feels , is small. Looks odd, tyre size small.

Overall Nexon is better.

Also please think and calculate IF you really need CNG as your running is hardly anything.

Purchased the Nexon Fearless 5 Days ago.

Nexon is definitely a better choice. The new facelift has made Nexon more of a futuristic car.

But how will you adjust 6-7 adults in either Punch/ Nexon?
