I want to purchase 1 refrigerator from flipkart using my ICICI cc. (10% upto 1000 discount offer)
The problem is my cc limit is 20k but product price is 24k.
I heard somewhere, if you pay in advance the whole amount to cc the cc limit will be increased and the transaction will go through.
My query is does this really work? If works will I get charged something like overlimit charge?

Big update….sadly ICICI Bank don’t allow d txn more than a limit.. Even if u prepay d amount… pathetic ICICI…

Yes this works, pay to cc from icici savings account if you have, immediately limit will get increased
But this will affect credit utilisation ratio, so load some more money before purchase
What if I load entire 24k to cc first?
Then I think credit utilization ratio will not be affected by any means.
Paying later is not my concern, I have money in my hand. Just wanted to know how this thing works.
hey, that’s not a wise thing to do. Overspending above your allotted limit will not only depreciate your cibil score but you might have to pay some overdraft fee.
Please check your cc manual for that.
Try to Ask friends who have icici cc with high limit they can help

I purchase something worth 9000 with my cc of limit 10000
Then I pay 6000 before bill generation date.
Now, will the credit utilization ratio will be considered as or below 30% ?

From my personal experience, I also came in between a situation like this, I paid a little more than the remaining amount to the cc (which is 4k in your case) before making the final payment, it went smoothly.

Working smoothly with SBI.. Today tried to place an order after prepaying d Amount.. But txns got declined..called cc.. They ve confirmed that ICICI don’t allow d txns more than d limit..even if u prepay..even if d system allows..ve to pay min ₹500 for overlimit fee.. So use GV for 4k n pay d remaining by cc @ZNZ

In the past i tried to purchase laptop worth 56k… My icici cc limit is 50k… Added extra 6k to credit card … Now i hit BUY… Transaction Is Getting Declined .. so Added 6k to amazon wallet via cc and paid remaining amount 50k via cc… Wallet and card combined… Success.. done…
