30% cut. Are they crazy? Who will use it over Visa then? But nevertheless, it's a good first step.

Main benefit of using RuPay card/UPI is that we paid in INR currency -

Russia and other countries will hold our Indian currency as a foreign reserve currency and will use Indian currency to do trade with us (India).

Not only this, when RuPay/UPI is implemented in other countries, they will also trade with each other with INR currency.

Our Indian currency will stop fall in and you will see our Indian currency will getting stronger in every decades. For example - currently, 1 Dollar = 80 INR but after few decades, you will see 1 Dollar = 70 INR and then 1 Dollar = 60 INR etc.

When we use Visa/mastercard. We always paid in US Dollar on foreign transactions, Visa/mastercard first conversion our INR currency to US Dollar and then international transactions is proceed. Result - our Indian currency is fall in every year, 1 Dollar = 60 INR, 1 Dollar = 70 INR, 1 Dollar = 80 INR and after few years, we will see 1 Dollar = 90 INR, 1 Dollar = 100 INR etc.

Aha, now some people will dream about buying Vodka in Mockba using the card... get drunk then drop the card at some Russki b**th*l and call up for emergency card replacement to be delivered there (like MC/VISA), only to be assured that they'd get it when they return to desh ki mitti...

ATM & POS machine me 100% acceptance hai.

E-com bhi bol sakte ho approx 98% accept hai.

Kuch he International website k Indian subsidiary sites hai jaha accept nahi hai, jaise ki Google India, Youtube India, Microsoft India, Netflix India etc

RuPay shayad jann bujh kar he abhi start nahi kiya hai kyunki tokenization ka wait kar raha hai, taki data leak na ho aur dusri baat "RuPay AutoPay" abhi tak sahi se live bhi hua hai. Kuch he merchant and banks hai ko "RuPay AutoPay" accept karte hai.

So we will be buying fuel directly from Russia now using our Rupay cards? Yet another idiotic glorification news which has low ramifications for anybody.

LOL, Who told you we will buy Russian oil using RuPay cards ? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Russia open Vostro account in Indian banks. When we use our RuPay cards, UPI or any trade with Russia like buying OIL/Gas etc. Our Indian banks will deposit the same amount in INR currency in this Russian bank accounts.

India open Nostro account in Russian banks. Now When Russia use Russia's Mir card, FPS system or any trade, buying goods with India. Russian banks will deposit same amount in Russian Rubble currency in this Indian bank accounts.

By the way today's news - "UCO Bank has received the approval of the Reserve Bank of India to open a "special Vostro account" with Gazprom Bank of Russia for trade settlement in Indian rupees."

I think India will use Russia's SWIFT alternative "SPFS" or maybe we will use our SWIFT alternative "SFMS" system to trade with Russia.

Not at all. I am returning back to India today after spending weeks in Russia/moscow. Checked my Rupay debit and credit cards issued within India (with sufficient international transaction limits set) in Sber and other Russian bank atms.  These cards were not getting recognized in any of the russian ATMs. Similar experience was told by other Indian visitors too whom I met at the moscow airport today morning.

Ok its also possible, Russian Sber banks now disabled RuPay card acceptance.

Its still in under devloping phases. It will take 3 to 5 years of time for official launch.

One more thing, also possible RuPay domestic cards will work in Russia,

RuPay Discover and RuPay JCB is International cards. These cards are control by Discover and JCB card network outside India.

Only RuPay domestic cards will work and banks also need to update RuPay card latest profile on their system to support RuPay domestic cards outside India.

A little off topic question. Is there any better way to convert INR to RUB other than Binance? I've been using binance for a while and conversion rate is much higher than any Indian debit card transactions in Russia. I paid around 1.44 lakhs INR to get 1.2 lakh RUB and at time conversion rate wasn't more than 1.1.

Were working at the time of testing.

It will take 5 to 10 years to go fully live on all ATMs and POS. Apart from this, the development is also slow due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
