What’s the benefit of having Rupay Debit card if the Amazon pay money load offer isn’t active anymore?
In my Bank of India nearby branch, when I went today to open savings account and filled up all the forms, they said it would take ONE MONTH to open the new account. 😄🤦🏻♂️
So this Amazon offer is only for Platinum rupay cards and not on classic/select variants.. am i right?

Too bad they don’t yet have digital onboarding process; website feel is way better than most other PSUs though…
Even with digital onboarding process there are very few psu banks(in fact I think only BoB & one other) where you can get rupay platinum debit card without visiting the branch & filling the debit card application form.

I have applied after 1 year of account opening with them, was not aware of this.. however is there a way to know the status, apart from visiting Branch.. I have requested 1 month back, and was said that will receive by 5 june only..
I have requested from canara bank 2 months back & still card has not arrived. Branch ppl saying due to chip shortage 2-3 months waiting time is normal.
Anyone got boi card recently? I went to branch after thinking alot, gave application for platinum card. Then I heard somebody complaining that he hasn't got card applied 6 months ago. Ignored it .
Waiting till he process my application.
Later branch manager told me it'll take some time till you get card. On asking how much? He told 1 month. After a short pause he told may be 2 or 3 months.. Nowadays headoffice is approving all card application sir, they only should send card. Then only you'll get it.. I took back my application & came back 😝
@posiedon recently got BOI DC but he's a customer for long time. For new accounts like mine opened in June, still no DC. I am just deciding when to complain to RBI.

Finally got my BOI RuPay Platinum debit card today after 6 months, just in time for Amazon offer Friday. 
Went to ATM, activated, turned on channels, set limits and UPI PIN. I don't know if it helped but I emailed certain BOI higher-up management email addresses like crazy complaining how 6 months is too long and that I would approach RBI. It was a pain to find Mumbai-specific officers' emails, some of them were dead/undeliverable.
Also I wonder if it helped if I told them that I have huge FDs in BOI. They have 7.25% FD interest so creating FDs there was a no-brainer. Initially the debit card department email address replied that card was issued in June 2022 itself, but they can't track it. I argued that if they can't track it, who can? There was no speed post SMS like there usually is for cards arriving by post (for SBI and Canara at least there is). Or it may be just sheer luck that it arrived after "only" 6 months. On Twitter people are reporting 8-9 months or even 1+ year waiting time.
Update: ...and used on RuPay offer.
BOI started issuing Contactless Rupay Platinum debit card. And got my card in 10 days after applying from branch.
Can we get it in a normal savings account? How did you apply?

As of 1.10.2022, Platinum debit card will have issuance charges too of ₹250
And annual charges of earlier ₹200+GST revised to ₹250+GST.

I have BOI Account Which has Rupay Classic Debit Card.
What is the procedure of Getting Rupay Platinum Debit Card?(I HAVE ALREADY GONE THROUGH THERE WEBSITE FOR THIS INFORMATION)
Also,When is the Right time to get PLATINUM card,because I am already Paying Annual Charges of Classic Debit Card.
General Queries of Mine-
Tell me,If My AMC Charges of Debit Card Deducts every year in the month of August (Just Assume),and If I Cancel the Debit Card and apply for new one in that case which one charges would be levied, or both charges will be taken ?
Some Banks Charge AMC at starting and Some at Ending,So if someone knows how the system works ,please let me know!
