Rupay UPI card being not accepted at many QR

Today I noticed strange thing.
Whenever I am trying to pay to merchant QR via rupay credit card
It gives me message that merchant is not accepting payments via credit card.
2/3 QR rejected the payment via credit card.
By this way there will be no meaning of keeping a card for UPI payments.

Use paytm app
After scanning the QR code it will show all available payment modes.
Pay via CC UPI if it is there.
You want to say that Paytm will show that if I can pay with credit card or not in advance?
Use paytm phonepe, they donot show rupay cc if merchant is not accepting via rupay cc, if payment greater then 2K are blocked only then both apps will show rupay cc as option but payment more than 2K will fail
In case of many qrs available at merchant end then chose paytm merchant qr for transactions less than 2k as paytm has given an option to disable rupay upi above 2k due to mdr charges and below 2k transactions are available for all paytm merchant qr
Slowly it becomes, who accepts credit card they only accept credit card on UPI.
So, yes you truly said, it will become dummy feature.
UPI on CC is biggest joke. It will show for all QR code, but will fail randomly for some after you enter PIN. Maybe for some merchant accounts it's deactivated. It should be accepted universally otherwise no use of such feature.

I paid 1170 To Icici merchant qr via hdfc cc using paytm. Merchant charged 26 rupees extra that too merchant taken extra by cash frm me. So even below 2k trxns are not fully free available in some cases
that is really bad experience.
As a humble gesture he should have absorb it and for the upcoming payments he should have disable all CC txns.
OP's thread is why I gave up on getting a decent RuPay CC on UPI after a few months of trying to get the HDFC Tata Neu CCs LTF. The merchants where most of my money goes accept all CCs (even Diners Club) and I have a good selection of CCs to get good rewards/cashback. UPI only merchants on an average constitute less than Rs 100 of my monthly expenses. Getting and more importantly maintaining a new card (tracking due dates, analyzing statements) for that is simply not worth it.
