If you look at the CPU speed Ryzen 3 is having 2.6Ghz while Intel i3 is having 1.2Ghz but Ryzen 3 supports 2400Mhz RAM speed while Intel supports 3733mhz (Higher memory speed give quicker system performance). Winner : Intel i3-1005G1

If you look for Benchmark test between these two again winner is Intel i3-1005G1.

P.S. This analysis is according to my knowledge related to processors and data provided by comparison provided here https://versus.com/en/amd-ryzen-3-3200u-vs-inte...

Comparison of Intel i3 10th Gen is generally done with Ryzen 5 3500. No point in comparing with Ryzen 3

For CPU – i3 1005G1 is as much as 25-28% faster than 3200U

10th gen i3 in laptops is better than 3200u but prefer 3500u between 10th gen i3 & 3500u because of much superior integrated graphics of 3500u. If it is latest ryzen 4xxx then no competition from intel.

Don’t look at these sites, look at notebookcheck.net for all things laptop related as far as reviews are concerned. smile

Also never look at max supported memory speeds in a laptop because unlike desktop there are much more restrictions on memory overclocking in laptop.

For such tasks you most likely won’t notice any difference between the two.

Depends on whether you are going to sit with an electronic stop watch to measure & compare performance but overall i3 10th gen would be faster than ryzen 3200u & a bit faster than 3250u I think but 3200 & 3250u have superior integrated graphics.

Yes i3 11th gen is better than ryzen 3 3xxx but not ryzen 3 4xxx processors.

Ohhh ryzen 4xxx means ryzen 5 😄😄

Ryzen 3/5/7 are starting model numbers while 3xxx/4xxx/5xxx represents generation(aka gen).

Ryzen series is quite confusing but interesting also

Ryzen 5000 series > Ryzen 4000 series > Ryzen 3000 series (launch date or latest -> oldest)

Ryzen 7 > Ryzen 5 > Ryzen 3 (processing power)

Now if the processor is Ryzen 5500 U is a Ryzen 5000 series processor but it’s Ryzen 5

So basically first digit will give generation just like intel 10th gen/11 gen

5 -> 5000 series/gen

4 -> 4000 series/gen

3 -> 3000 series/gen

2nd digit means the ryzen 3/5/7 just like i3/i5/i7/i9

2/3 -> Ryzen 3

4/5/6 -> Ryzen 5

7 – Ryzen 7

For example

Ryzen 4600U is 4000 series but Ryzen 5

Ryzen 5500U is 5000 series but Ryzen 5

Ryzen 3200U is 3000 series but Ryzen 3

Ryzen 3500U is 3000 series but Ryzen 5

I hope it helps all

PS – please let me know if anything seems to be not proper here
