Hey guys! So I just got the quotation from samsung service engineer. I need to pay 4850 rupees for gas filling. It's a 2 ton inverter ac. But on Samsung website, the amount reads 2200 + gst. So I'm confused. Anyone has experience with Samsung for gas filling? Please let me know. Thanks.

We don't have Urban in our town. Either way, I don't think I have a choice as the samsung engineer will also be replacing the condenser coil which is damaged, but under warranty.

Tell samsung customer care to book gas filing by their own engineer
I didn't get you. Can you please elaborate? Because the technician was from samsung. I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow to clarify about the charges.

I was using the samsung AC 4 years ago. The charges for gas refiling from Samsung were around 1.6k at that time, don't know if it has increased a way to 4.8k.
4.8 K is very high. 2K~3K max a local AC mechanic will charge you. But since your condenser is in warranty so you will have to depend on Samsung for free replacement of condenser. Is your AC has aluminium condenser? Copper condenser usually does not fail in just 1 year. Copper condenser can easily lasts for 8~10 years if regular service is done & not exposed sewage area.

How condenser is under warranty after one year? Did you buy extended warranty? Are both condenser and evaporator coils under warranty? Only after checking the leakage it can be established whether it's in Condenser, evaporator or connecting pipes. Condenser coil replacement costs 7000 without warranty. The technician may be misinforming you. He may only attend the leakage and not replace the coil
Gas filling charges of 2Ton ac are 1000 more than 1.5 ton AC. 2300 are local technician charges for 1.5 ton window AC. Split AC charges are 500 more than window. Samsung may charge 4500+ taxes for 2 ton split

The charges are indeed high. The condenser is copper and it's not even exposed to sunlight or rain. I guess it must be a manufacturer defect, because I had only used the ac for a month after installation last year. The issue could have started just after a couple of months.

The engineer said he could see the oil leakage in the condenser. That's how he determined that it needs to be replaced. And yeah, the condenser has 5 years of warranty. They will replace the condenser and then recharge the gas. Anything that I should be aware of when they do this?
DO NOT take such local deal , the engineer will damage your AC purposefully to create business oppurutnity , look for proper online method so that u can later complain if anything goes wrong , this engineer will simply wont pick your call once he have money

Thanks, but the engineer I mentioned is from samsung authorised service center, not a local one.

Isn't the AC under warranty? If yes then gas charging should also be free and covered under warranty.
can anyone help with urban company membership ?
