My mother's Samsung M51 screen refused to display anything. I tried hard booting, and it worked once, but after 3 days, it stopped working again, and hard booting did not work.

The phone is 3.5 years old at this point.

I went to a local repair shop, and he charged Rs 1600 for an LCD screen. The original was an Amoled screen, and the current replacement is horrible quality. Not happy with it.

I went to a Samsung service center today to enquire about screen replacement. They quoted Rs 8500. This phone is old, and won't even get me Rs 4000 in second hand market.

What is the solution?

First of all there is no point in spending 8500 for amoled screen. You'll get the new phone for around 10-11k.

Either Sell this on OLX or any nearby local shop & buy the new one! Or if you don't want to spend, then no option left you have to use it.

There was an OTA update 1 month ago. But the phone was working fine after the update.

The screen did come back on for 3 days after dimming and a hard reboot (volume down + power button). But again same thing, screen stopped waking up.

I could call the phone, it would ring, but screen remained off. Even restart did not help.
