What type of account in Saraswat Bank? I guess only regular savings account has RuPay Platinum? Is Suvidha Savings Account same as BSBDA and does it have RuPay Platinum debit card?

Well today I walked in into my nearby Saraswat Bank branch to open a new savings account. I told them I specifically wanted a RuPay Platinum debit card for this savings account as RuPay had better offers for me compared to Visa Debit card.
I was told that RuPay card was not possible/âout of stockâ đ, and that the bank was currently issuing only Visa debit cards. RuPay Platinum was just not available to them and they didnât know when it would become available again.
How can Indiaâs indigenous home grown card network be âunavailableâ while Americaâs Visa card is available ? I have complained to NPCI and asked to intervene. Also contacted Saraswat Bank Twitter.

Yup, Many public sector banks also told the same thing, RuPay card OOS and Visa only available.
The reason they give â Chip shortage.
Some PSU banks also told RuPay Classic available but RuPay Platinum not available, same reason â Chip shortage.

Asked recently again at Saraswat Bank since my friend has RuPay Platinum. This time the lady didn't say it has supply issues or chip shortage. She straightaway said "We now issue only Visa cards going forward." đ I've already complained in the past to RuPay Twitter and they were unable to do anything about this bank.

Use their GoMo app and generate a RuPay Platinum Digital / Virtual Debit Card free of charge if you already have a VISA Platinum Physical card. The vice-versa is also true i.e. you can generate a VISA Platinum Digital / Virtual Debit Card if you have a RuPay Platinum Physical card. I can personally attest to this. It is one of their best features.
Before anyone gets any LOOT ideas, they allow only one Digital / Virtual Debit Card at a given time. So, you cannot issue 10 RuPay Platinum Digital / Virtual Debit Cards and keep loading your Amazon Wallet on Fridays 10 times a month!

Saraswat Bank Digital Debit Card is an electronic Debit card, which can be
generated using the Saraswat Bank GoMo Mobile Banking facility. Since it is a
