SBI card dishonor charges - after payment.

For some reason they triggered autopay 5 days before the due date and the necessary funds were not available in the account linked?!.
I vaguely remember authorizing autopay to be debited on due date. I usually pay the bill within 5 days of statement generation. This time I actually paid in excess.
How could they trigger autopay days before the due date and levy dishonor charges(500 rs)?
Sent an email but still haven't received any reply.

Been a savings holder for a decade. Always paid within a few days of statement generation before.
I already have a complaint they keep ignoring despite escalation.

SBI charged me 165 rupees as a finance charge how can I get to know about the charge. Why did they charge me?

I think they accepted someone else cheque payment in your account, then that cheque got dishonored.
if making payment by yourself...please make it 4-5 days before due date as it take 2-3 days to get it posted...if payment made 1-2 day before DD, autodebit will definitely triggered from system automatically and if it get bounced, you will get levied with such dishonour or NSF fees
On 20 jan from where did you paid and how much paid
I think on 20th jan you needed to pay 3k and you paid some amount extra also but this amount got settled on 22 jan
In sbi autopay these idiots deduct amount even if you paid 1-2 days ago and amount not settled yet
Can guide how this deducted if you dm exact amounts
Have faced this problem around 3-4 times in sbi now i have removed autopay
I occasionally use SBI Credit Card. On 25th Jan I used it at a govt site for payment of 280. PayU was the gateway for this payment. Everything went well till OTP submission but after that payment was declined by SBI and card was blocked stating suspicious activity detected.
Now I am unable to login via website. I am not using SBI App and even not tried to login via app.
Primary number is registered with SBI and I am receiving SMS for verifying the transaction by calling customer care number but I don't have any outgoing facility on my primary number (no active recharge, last was 3 months ago) and not in mood of recharge.
After this post I am in shock and don't have an idea what SBI will charge me for not unblocking my card.
When sbi rejects a transaction, on any grounds, they usually call you immediately and ask if the transaction done by you.
If you say yes, they will ask you to retry after 5 mins then it would work.
But getting vr calls the couple past times. Then it works.
Since you haven't recharged, maybe that's why they haven't been able to clear the activity with you.
And I ve seen dimers here saying sbi automatically unblocks cards after a day.
They did same to one of my friend. He raised this issue on twitter. after 24 hours he received a call from sbi customer care representative and they refunded dishonour fee after 72 hours. So i suggest you to contact them. They will refund dishonour fee.
I have mailed them through their app. No response yet. Let's see how It goes.
Just disable this messy auto debit. There is a form available in sbicard website. Fill that form and sign and courier it to mentioned address. They will disable the auto debit then pay your bill as per your convenience peacefully
Disabled it today. You can now do it online like @Gauravmittal49589 said.

Seems like you are new customer to sbi and it was your first bill. Just inform your grievance to CS
