That’s how SBI Card works. It will split your original cards limit into the new card. So let’s say your 1st one was 1L and now you apply for a 2nd card, then 1L will be split into two, say 90K and 10K and assigned accordingly. This is how they do it in general. However the split ratio (like 90:10 as in this example) can be sometimes negotiated via mail/cc.

Hi, I recently applied and got a SBI Paytm credit card. But i already own a BPCL credit card with above 1L. I received paytm card with limit of 10k and deducted from my primary to put into this to paytm. Anyone know why ? Or no way to have its own limit ? Im not understanding this.

No option to have a shared limit? I think Axis has that option.

I second this. I had Prime, and got offer to get additional card SimplyClick after 7-8 months of usage. In the offer message, it was written like “enjoy double Credit Limit with new card”. While applying, it gave me the option to split the existing limit between the two cards as per my requirements. I split the limit with 39:61 ratio between old and new card. But Credit Limit was not doubled as said in the message.
