1. You have to talk to sbi card customer care person, and ask them to convert it to rupay. They will connect you to IVR for your consent. That's all. You will get your card within 5 days.

2. Answered above

3. If you have a addon card already, you will receive both card together. No idea about Shubayatra.

Spoke to CC, said there's no offer for platform change.

Since SBI is in no mood to transfer my VISA to RuPay, how should I proceed? Also SBI declining the process of CC appln from retired category. Which is the other IRCTC variant is easy to have? Thank you all for your inputs.

I have been an SBI IRCTC card user for nearly 8 years. Take my advice - DO NOT get it.

If getting discounts on train tickets is your goal, get any HDFC DC/CC card and use their SmartBuy platform to get 5% CB / 3X RPs. If you are hell bent on a IRCTC card, go for the HDFC IRCTC card in that case. Note that SmartBuy is a bad idea for tatkal tickets (10 am / 11 am tickets) or opening day (4 months advance at 8 am) bookings.

The biggest demerit of the SBI IRCTC card is that the 10% cashback (as IRCTC points) is valid for only 4.5 months in a year and that too only for the primary cardholder's fare only. For the other months, it is 4% cashback (as IRCTC points).

Travel dates between 1st April - 14th July and 16th Sep - 14th Jan - 4 Points
Travel dates between 15th Jan - 31st Mar and 15th July - 15th Sep - 10 Points

You may ask why do I have this card then? 2 reasons -
1. It is the cheapest SBI card (Rs 300 + GST annual fees) that works for 10% e-com sales unlike everyone's favourite SBI Cashback card
2. It rewards 0.8% (as IRCTC points) even on government transactions.
