I already have an SBI Simply Click Credit Card with 500 Annual Fee and 1.2L limit. Now I’m regularly getting call from a girl saying that SBI is offering LTF cards from October and she can convert my Simply Click card to LTF with limit enhancement.
Even though I don’t really need any limit enhancement, I’m interested in LTF card.
But, I had read in many places SBI don’t offer LTF cards. But, when I asked her about the same, she’s saying that SBI started offering LTF cards(No minimum spend) from October and she’s guaranteeing about that!
Is there any truth in her claim “SBI started offering LTF cards since October?”
Tell her to send an email from her official ID and do not provide your card details. If there is any truth, she should be able to do that.

SBI LTF is a black swan phenomenon.
(Basically, it can happen only when the issuing officer falls asleep and hits the wrong button)
There’s no way you can officially obtain an LTF SBI Card. Period
Black Swan Phenomenon
This is something new that I learnt, cool stuff (y)
SBI does not offer LTF cards, However sometimes retention team can convert your existing card into LTF. I’m having simply click(paid), OLA money cards(converted to LTF)

Retention team? So is it like you asked to close your SBI card and then they offered you to make your card life time free so that you don’t have to close. Is it?

Yes, kinda of like that but they make cards ltf if you request on the basis of spending, repayments and credit card age. But don’t threat them to make ltf by threatening you will close it because in some cases they may make your card ltf but in some cases they will close your card though. So, try at your own risk . And one thing no banks will call you by them for making your card ltf, its a trap. Only some banks do it and almost in rare cases. Also, it will depend on your high relationship value with bank and its products and if you are salaried or self employed with a high income.

That’s an "unofficial’ offer for the officials.

I have asked them to close the card, since there is no travel and I am not using OLA cabs due to work from home. I did not ask anything but they have converted it to LTF based on my relationship with SBI card and spending pattern. I am very much surprised because SBI never offer such kind .

a valid question to ask is as bellow >> are you calling from direct sbi carrs team or any 3rd party. If she said 3rd party or back office of sbi >> chuna laga rahi hai >> muze bhi bola gaya sbi ltf hai lekin paying 599₹ per year

It’s your only sbi card? Do you used it as primary card for 4 years? How much % of credit you utilize on average?
TintinSnowy wrote:It’s the only card from SBI which I hold. Cumulative spends over the 4 years on this card should be around 3L-4L.
You are so lucky. Congratulations! Never seen one(recently) with an LTF SBI card without an additional card from SBI as paid.
