No. It’s not online. I know where it got leaked to those scammers.

Trying to get This phone number scam getting alarming becomes high now. Hope telecom companies become more careful in issuing duplicate sims. 😌

I have very little trust of ngos and the persons running. I seen the scams they do in the name of public welfare.

On topic: Yes, that’s obviously a scam. I haven’t received any such texts, yet, luckily. But every other day I receive some job offers from home and it annoys the hell outta me. Blocked so many of them but it’s just one spoon of water from an yucky ocean.

One scam was waiting to happen with me last month btw- I contacted Icici on twitter regarding an issue, left my a/c no. visible with ifsc and all and within 5 mins I got a reply to the tweet that call us at this no. for a resolution. It was early morning and I was still sleepy so I didn’t notice the respondent’s twitter handle closely and called on that number. The greeting message itself caught my ears. Like even modi has better english pronunciation. I am like you are icici customer care? He goes yes sarrr, diz iz I. Anyway, in seconds I understood and still carried on the convo. to see what he was going to say. He asked me to install BHIM app, as far as I can recall. I was ok thanks bye. Replied back to that tweet with extremely vulgar language and reported the profile as scam. It was deleted within few mins! Here is the funny thing, another a/c was created within mins and they replied the same thing, call on this no. and so on.

The point is these fake accounts have identical handle as with original merchant’s just with an added hyphen or hash or underscore, which can be easily missed in a rush, and the profile picture was also obviously identical to icici’s twitter profile. I know I am dumb and all but still just be careful for those who are dumber yet.

I have one BSNL SIM and every other day I get calls and messages from scammers saying  that my SIM KYC is expired

This is the first time any such came in this number. No advertising/ spam too.
