Referral is there but amazon doing something different by displaying credit cards on main page. Its more like providing leads to credit card provider and everything else is to be taken care by bank.

Could be big money based on the millions of visits these websites get.
But its more of Automated Error Free Money via referral.
Amzn refers a new customer and post acquisition the banks pays a % to amzn for that.

I know about idfc since one of my cousin works there
There are two departments regular cc sales executive which are available on websites lime select, wealth, etc
& premium paid ones like vistara, private one so for select, wealth they each get 2k/cc & for vistara it was 4k/cc, Wow was 1k
But this are like incremental bonus type before they have fixed targets like xyz no to sell & after that this are added as bonus
So he is in paids ones & earns handsomely as customer comes to him but for select & below it's hard sale & those executives mostly targets freshers

Also, regarding original question -how to earn, you really need a good network or telegram channels or website to promote it I have used earn karo & amex referral to mint some money its pretty easy since there are many people who are desperate to get cc
