Should I apply for Amex card? If yes than which one?
I already have multiple credit cards of Axis Flipkart, ICICI Amazon, HDFC card, etc…
Is it worth adding any AMEX card in the wallet?
Yes check pm

Don’t get tempted by just 1 or 2 offers.
I would say not worth it unless u do not care for Annual fees and want to have good(brand) card in wallet.
Amex is very calculative, u can hardly recover fees through offers.
Many may suggest it for referral benefits

Thanks a lot for a genuine feedback..
… I was getting tempted by 4 spends of 1k per month offer…
I agree with @caks2006407 that it is not very rewarding when u compare these bonus points with annual fees however i can see a trend of offers which is gradually increasing. For eg. Smartearn companiyon card. Then small shops offer, amazon 10% offer, spend 15k based offer. They’re trying hard to be competative in terms of rewards.
I would suggest mrcc + smartearn but Since u already have many cards it will be difficult for you to reach spend threshold for fees waiver
Close eye and go for Amex Rewards Credit card..if your spend is more than 1.5L ..but through anyone referal link..
one of the dimers calculation
https://www.desidime.com/discussions/which-cred...
consider amex redemtion Amazon e-voucher worth Rs. 7,000
points needed=18000 (18K gold collection redemtion)
bonus=12000(swapping( 1000×4 )/month )+ 2000(joining bonus)=14000
regular points=(4000/50)x12=960
points needed=18000-14000-960=3040
spent needed for 3040 points=152000
profit=(7000/(152000+(4000×12)))x100=(7000/200000)x100= 3.5%
edit:
mrcc – via referal link rs.1500+gst
soon you will get smartearn as companion card

Joining benefits are one time offering. So you have to add 100k more.
Which will bring down the value significantly.
Best use of this card if you also hold other cards is over 2 years. 12k points in 1st and 2nd year for spends of only 96k resulting in 24k points. Redeem 24k into ₹9k.
₹3600rs 2 year fees.
So overall benefit 9k-3.6k that is 5.4k on 96k spends.
That 5.6% cashback
I also didn’t count regular points those can also add 500rs value.

@cooldudhu321 yes. MRCC is great. Along with festive offers, it gives you lot of savings. Thought I am struggling for 1k 4 times now because Paytm is charging 2% extra but will find ways ….
If interested in some benefits, please PM.
Sitting on 1L points, and will use them for upcoming travels post corona.

it depends on the card. In my MRCC, for first year I just spent 80k and got Amazon GC of Rs 7000 and the fee waiver. Please suggest me any other card which offers the same. Also Amex is offering 10% on Flipkart and Amazon(including GC) frequently nowadays. Getting 1k bonus on MRCC each month does require discipline. (Wallet spends are also included as of now)
Also you are forgetting one of the other aspects which most of the us never value is the customer care. Amex customer care is one of the best customer care. Chargeback is so easy in Amex.
My chargeback experience:
SBI –
Merchant – Paytm. SBI didn’t help at all. Only asked me to contact Paytm.
Amex –
Merchant – Cleartrip. I opted for Cancellation insurance, due to technical issue at their end, the booking was not having it. Initially they were not helping it. I just mentioned Cleartrip Customer care about Amex chargeback. They initiated the refund same day.

Yes customer care is very good you can always instantly get to talk to a person. Unlike hdfc which haven’t picked a call in last 6 months.

Share your customer experience with Axis, ICICI and HDFC.
Even RM is not helping me to resolve my issue in my Axis. Any way to get it resolved?

To be honest I have not faced any major issue with credit cards. Incase of some complex issue i simply drop an email as person replying to email are smarter staff. They carefully reply to emails as it becomes a written evidence.

Not so good experience with Amex customer care nowadays. Yes, it was good but things seem to have changed.

i always wonder what’s the benefit here. Use cc to add to paytm wallet… it counts as cc spends fair enough. But what to do with 💰stuck in paytm wallet? Is it paytm merchant thing where you can transfer to bank at 0%? But if no paytm merchant, and apart from chillar txns at shops using wallet, how to use up?

For me Paytm is daily spend mode. I never deal in cash, whenever possible. I actually don’t do Paytm to bank. For some, it may be stuck but works good for me

👍🏻 makes sense bro. Using paytm wallet like this has 3 +:
cc reward pts, effectively using cc to pay for daily spends, contactless convenient payment (in covid 🌍)
So it is definitely helpful but I don’t know how ppl manage to achieve their cc spends thresholds using this method.
Disclaimer: I don’t have Amex and you said 1k x 4 which is 4k per month and appears manageable.
Also Amazon upi was giving very good cb for 3-4 months so if one uses paytm wallet one miss out on that cb
KG! 🙂

5.6% on what? have you seen exclusions? almost everything important like mobiles..are excluded
Not best and neither free. Fee waiver is up to them if spends are less.
Since they kept high fees for even basic card like MRCC customer is automatically pressurized to move spends to Amex to meet 1.5 lacs target.
You may get good offers and may earn more but that is not consistent like HDFC or ApayICICI, here u keep waiting for offers email then collect it and spend
demerius2020 wrote:Content has been removed!
Bro if you click on your own link it says 1500rs fees not 4500rs.
I strongly feel anything above ₹48k annually on this card is waste except in 3 situations :
1. There’s Amex specific offers.
2. You’re into Marriott points.
3. If your other cards can’t get you at least ₹1800 on 100k spend.
amex smartearn is giving 10* for flipkart orders
in t&c mentioned, per rs.50-1 regular point and remaining 9 points are additional, right?
so via rewards multipiler, will they give only 2 points or additional 18 points also ?
