If you are going to buy a flagship or upper tier phone now, the processor is most probably going to be 5G one. So better to look at the 5G bands it supports before finalising one. Unless you are buying the likes of OP 7T (SD 855 series ones).

Buy a good phone as per your budget. Whether it has 4G or 5G is irrelevant.

5G is going to be mas rollout for at least next 2 years. Although JIO has committed to launch 5G service in 2021 but I thing it just announcement for marketing tactics. Some high end handsets are now being launch with support in india, but it is not clear which 5G bands will be available in India. So buy any phones as per your priorities & budget. Don’t fall in 5G marketing gimmicks as of there will be time come when even entry level smartphone will have 5G support.

It all depends on for how long you plan to use a phone… If you paln switch phones in a year or 1.5 years… Get 4G one.. If more.. Opt for 5G.!!

Get 4g phone.. Currently 4g speeds are good enough for all tasks.. No one knows when 5g will roll out to all cities.. Also being new technology the plans will be expensive, it will take 2 years easy for it to become affordable compared to 4g plans

Don’t upgrade unless it is absolutely necessary. More you wait more options you will have.
Second thing is how long you are planing to use new phone, if its 1 to 1.5 years than 5G makes no sense but if you plan to use it fro 2-3 years then you can go for 5G phones.

As you don’t want to go for Chinese brands currently you don’t have any decent options.

In Chinese brands Realme X7 and Mi 10i are available options, can say MotoG 5G also if you get card offer.
