I'm looking for a basic Android device that won't hang during calls and runs WhatsApp smoothly, no other criteria.
Can anyone suggest a device? Personal recommendations from those who have used or verified the device would be greatly appreciated.
Budget is under upto 10k, but lesser the better.

For such basic usage even the SD680(A73 cores) will suffice coupled with at least 4GB RAM. Significantly faster devices based on SoCs using A75/76 cores like those from MTK or Unisoc are also available in this price range.

Any idea how's the software side of things in case of Lava devices? Supposedly stock Android. Lava Blaze 2 at Rs 8.2k seems decent. I can't find any expert reviews, only a few by Youtubers. I need an inexpensive secondary device to replace my aging Redmi Note 3. Android 11 is just a little too much in terms of RAM usage in my 3GB variant.

Though I am sure that finding it's replacement parts will be nightmare in future.
Tecno POVA 3
MediaTek Helio G88
4GB RAM,64GB Storage

I couldn't find any expert reviews. Don't like diving in blind.
Regarding spare parts https://www.carlcare.in/in/spare-parts-...e/ No guarantee if a part is actually available or not. Pova 3 doesn't seem to be listed.
As far as the above average battery capacity is concerned that may not always translate into longer battery life as was the case with Samsung's offerings with 6/7Ah batteries. Software optimization wasn't on the mark probably or the use of a cheaper display with higher power consumption or whatever.
Edit: Too heavy. I don't care if the weight is distributed evenly or whatever.
Edit2: MTK's 12nm Helio lineup was never renowned for it's power efficiency..
Edit3: Detailed review at last https://root-nation.com/en/gadgets-en/smartphon...
