Snapdeal has lost trust once and for all

Ordered a product on Oct 15th by paying online with my card. Debit message came immediately on my mobile from the bank. However, no order no. was generated nor could I see the order in the orders section of my account nor did I receive any mail confirmation. When I called up snapdeal customer care, I was informed that payment was not successful. I called up my banks customer care and got confirmation that payment was indeed successful. I called back snapdeal customer care but still they didn’t agree. After 24 hours, snapdeal confirmed that payment was successful but said order is at ‘x’ stage. Till this time also, the order was not visible in orders section nor did I receive any mail. Whenever I called them to check the status, I was told to wait for few more hours and order will get confirmed. Now, after 72 hours of ordering, snapdeal informs that money has been refunded in my account.

Following questions needs to be answered by snapdeal, answers of which I can’t seem to find:
1. Why was payment first declared unsuccessful?
2. When they realised payment was successful, y d order was not reflecting in orders section?
3. Why wasn’t any mail sent that order was placed with this email Id?
4. What did snapdeal do with money for 2 days? Shouldn’t they be liable to pay interest on the same? What about the money spent on the phone calls reaching out the customer care?
5. Why snapdeal took a order which they cannot process? There should be a check how many orders they took and how many they cancelled by refunding the money?

I’m a regular online shopper and I understand that there can be delays and some glitches but this particular incident seems to me more of an intentional malpractice. My intention of this post is to make ecom companies more accountable for the offers they put online and unearth any scam, if going on inside. Each cancelled order by ecom companies shd be penalised like telecom companies being penalised for call drops.

Ecom industy badly needs a regulator or an omburdsman
