Something about Desidime - A little History !!

3 years back the domain desidime was registered at 11.58 pm US time... (which was 12th JUly in India) by Admin - Jimish Jobanputra.... while he was working in US

The objective of desidime was to create a community for all the shoppers in India....
After few months - I Joined him - (Mehul Jobanputra) as i was getting really fried in my corporate Job

We really started working on it since september...... and thats when we began our real journey...
We started doing this as part time.... with our existing job...... for about a year.....

Little about me..... I have done my mechanical engineering post which I was working as a production engineer.... then went to UK to do my MBA and came back and started working as a Management Consultant for 5 years
Little about Admin - Did his computer science engineering from India then went to US for his Master in Computer science, worked there for 4 years before returning to India

Great going guys… Only few can fulfill their dreams, others keep struggling in their corporate jobs…
I started different sites in past 5 years and finally closed them down as none worked out good… It’s definitely a great community and everyone is quite sensible and helpful… Keep it up guys…

Love 2 hear ..your success story..I also want to do something of my own, but i don’t know what is it yet, sometimes I wonder that will i able to find or realize that what i want to do..in this life, what is my destiny..:-D

WOW !! Great to know about Admins & their struggle..
I am one of the old member of DD (joined on June 1, 2011).. but a silent visitor (:-{ )..From the last one year, I am a regular visitor (sometime twice or thrice a day)… have seen lot of up-downs like LK Bhai case..
Today, felling very proud to a member of this community..

Saw this thread today and was searching for the above line
Great going admin and mods.. DD is better than any other websites or social networking sites like fb in my opinion.. If not for DD i would have surely missed many things in life..

Its not just a website and neither i need to explain you guys about my experience here.. Anyways for an example i would say that if not for DD i would have not saved my bucks on my expenditures, wouldn’t had the privilage of making the wonderful friends in telugu thread etc..

I know this is an old thread… But i used to visit DD atleast for close to 8 months and then when i thought i should comment on the posts as well which is when i decided to join on DD on Apr 2011.. still remember LK Bhai and others who were all active at that time.. and yeah not to forget those friendly thrashes as well

Its a great thread….The moment I started reading it I couldn’t resist myself to go throughouly.:-}
Have found some very nice comments and some outliers too:-P
Like have found people asking anthrax about their (his and his brother’s) monthly income/ revenue etc. etc..
Nothing against anyone but just wanted to add that guys we all are matured enough for this, many of my brothers here are working professional/ corporates, many are students, scholars etc., we came from different background, religions but their one thing that has brought all us together is this Community.
Guys Desidime always says it is a community and we should treat this forum like our family. I mean you should have put yourself under Anthrax’s shoe and then would have felt that how it sound when someone asks you about your Dad’s/ Brothers/ your own/ anyone’s income from your family
We all keep referring each other with Bro/ Bhai in posts, replies, quotes and PMs but we should feel home here and at least don’t ask this to our Bosses. They have nourished this place, taken care of and have grown up this like a child.
It takes a lot of courage guys to leave something which they have been doing from lot of year, which was the source of their income to jump into something and create a Milestone which we proudly call “Desidime” today.
I sincerely apology to my all the dimers here if they found my post to be targeted/ pointing out. But I am not, it is just a common observation and feeling that I am sharing here based on what I have read through in this thread.
I myself is a member for more than 2 years, though was not very active till 1.5, but now a days I am trying to contribute my bit.
I can understand that it is the human nature that we always see the brighter side, and next moment we start thinking that I also would do this.
I have heard and read on social platforms where entrepreneurs keep posting like that “Ever startup is not blessed to be Facebook”.
From my perspective, it is not the Blessing (brighter side), but there a lot of hard work associated with this which definitely is a darker side and nobody talks about it.
Give respect to what our bosses here have done and gone through to create a platform like this where today you and me are helping us and our associated in saving money.
