Split AC cooling capacity reducing?

I visited store to check latest ACs.

But I'm seeing a pattern of reduced cooling capacity.

Last year's LG model was 4600 this year it's down to 4400 in 1.5 ton

Also I see the machine size at least indoor unit is decreasing in dimensions

Same with all other companies.

I know this is to meet latest BEE star ratings.

But isn't cx going to get ripped off with an AC that perhaps cant cool down the same size room which earlier 5250 capacity could?

Can someone shed some light on this?

4400 & 4600 is not model number as stated in comments

It says maximum cooling capacity

https://www.desidime.com/selective_search?utf8=✓&keyword="British+Thermal+Unit"&load_all=true&search_list=topic BTU is the relevant metric.

Model names and fancy (but useless) numbers do not have much relevance.

Indoor unit is just a blower. Its size (or lack thereof) does not really change the co-efficient of the cooling capacity.

I think 4400 would be model number.

Cost saving as well as useful due to BEE scores.

Very rarely people use AC on full capacity, as per utilisation they made needful changes and made it efficient

Don't worry, it will work same.

@ਹੱਸਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ Pardon my ignorance , but are these (4400, 4600 et al.) references to model names or something like that?

4400W is not a real 1.5-ton AC; it is slightly lower, but some AC companies sell it under the name of 1.5 ton. LG ACs are not considered heavy-duty ACs due to the lightweight compressor and coil used in the outdoor unit. It's better to avoid LG and go with Panasonic, Daikin, or Ogenral.
