Try for transformerless inverter. They are better efficient.

Exide Invatublar battery + Microtek SEBZ Pure sine wave ups.Using from last 7 years.Great back up and switching time.Always use inverter with UPS function.

I bought exide 200 Ah battery for 16k offline in last November. Have no problem so far. I suggest go to your local shop and enquire about both the brands like luminous and exide battery and choose as per your need and budget.
For inverter you can go with luminous, using the same since 13 years and no problem yet.
BTW, earlier I used luminous 160Ah battery and it lasted around for 8 years and got exchanged for 4k with new exide battery to get it for 12k(16k-4k).
