Test your UPI fraud knowledge by using this fraud site
Open this site in a typical mobile browser like chrome,xiaomi default browser etc & then click on “claim & sent reward to your bank”. Open the app(phonepe,paytm,google pay,amazon whichever is there or you like). See the transaction details(it will show as debit which many miss to notice in these type of scams) & click on proceed. You will see the prompt to enter upi pin & at that time do not enter upi pin & close the app. Now reopen app to see fraudster name/mobile number details in failed transaction details.

Edit: To see the fraudster’s details you actually need to complete the transaction by entering correct upi pin so to make transaction fail you need to make your linked bank acc balance just a few rupees so that transaction will still fail after entering correct upi pin with msg “insufficient funds”. Then you can see the fraudster’s details in that failed transaction details in transaction history in app.

You don’t need phonepe, this scam site will invoke phonepe,paytm,amazon app,google pay(has a specific link that says for google pay click here). Check it once on your mobile.

Apay shows amount to be paid.
These are enough to alert the user it’s a debit transaction. But most of people brain wil freeze seeing the free money.
For New/uneducated users it may be very difficult to understand this.
There should be another layer/popup/alert to tell users by performing this action money ll be debited from your account press continue or decline. That’ll remind the users it’s a debit transaction.
Phone pe not blocks it gives option to block Cancel and Continue but that’s not sufficient in country like India most people don’t use this feature they are going to redeem free cash anyway why would they block?

@drupal also everyone here, to find the mobile number/numbers as the linked number/upi id on this fraud site keeps changing, you will have to finish the transaction. I got 2 different numbers & upi id by entering the correct upi pin but no balance in linked bank acc so upi transaction failed with insufficient funds msg in transaction history where I could see the details.

The 1st one is of UP East while the second one is BSNL – MP region.

It feels good to see I won something in scratch cards, even if its a fraud site, after so many BLNT on Gpay..

You can always see the amount in next screen after allowing the upi app to open as the amount to be deducted.
Irony with current government and it’s followers is that they keep praising themselves and saying UPI is the only technology which is fraud proof and it is only user’s fault , but no action taken to nab these fraudsters till now , first make confusing interface and make fraudsters job easy and then say it’s your fault , UPI fraud is happening from many years but they are busy in making useless laws to harass common man, they are only interested in sucking each drop of blood of common man in the name of tax terrorism,
They are not bothering about
Law and order, Deteriorating Health services, Increasing Crimes, scams, because they themeselvs are criminals and scammers
I have always wondered, UPI ID is linked to a bank account then why is it so difficult to track the culprit and recover money.
Now, before someone say that these people make accounts with fake IDs. I feel in such scenario, the onus of fraud should be on the banks which opened the account without proper due diligence and then we can truly secure system because banks will be more careful in doing kyc.
It’s likely that the current banking rules and regulations make these frauds possible because bnaks don’t have liability for not doing kyc diligently.

In case of credit / debit cards you can still file charge back request but with UPI money gone is gone

It seems fraudsters are now doing what I learned a few months back from here, it is not wise to use default upi id format(your mobile number@xxx) so make something like abcdef@xxx your upi id so that your number does not show up in such upi transfer transaction details.

My observations :
1. These sites aren’t encrypted.
2. Links itself are phishing.
3. They say you have won 1709rs in PP but they also have a option to redeem this money in gpay lol

You can get them encrypted if you know how it is done. 
That is why you should never trust a site just because of the presence of padlock sign in address bar/encrypted connection.

Please track account numbers names and mobile numbers of fraudsters
Most of the times the account will be of Paytm or other payments bank & mobile number will go switched off after a fraud. They aren’t regular people who are using their primary number & bank accounts for these scams. They are getting bank accounts & numbers only for doing fraud.
