Stopped using sleeper class from 2012 on my route to delhi after experiencing more than 200 people in my coach. For 500 km I had to literally suffer from overcrowding till it was 11 pm but then also while I was trying to sleep one person sat on berth at my foot side( mine was side lower berth). After that never travelled in sleeper in my route and now 3rd AC feel like new sleeper coach in my route. When I have to go and time is of no concern I travel by train taking 24 hours instead of 18 hours as latter is overcrowded and tickets are not available most of times. However this overcrowding was of no concern when I was traveling in sleeper, 3rd AC and 2S in Tamilnadu as I saw only people with confirmed ticket traveling. And found people with no adjustment attitude in train which I find good ( from personal experience) .

Just commenting on last line, are you using toilets in trains? 

We usually try to find alternative if train has a stop at a big station

Although I have only travelled in a train few times but toilet was always horrible. Shatabdi was generally better but still not great.

This is 5 years back. Not used a train since lockdown 

how long is this route journey

150 crore population. How many new trains can be run on existing rail lines.? Simple option for upper middle class is now is go for flight - bus - if nothing available then only go for ac 1st Or 2nd in train . This is my order of travel now. 

This problem is created by railways itself they decreased sleeper and general coaches and added more AC coaches to earn hefty profit and they sell large number of waitlisted  tickets and allow boarding not only this they allow almost everyone into sleeper / 3AC coaches by taking full fare / fare difference and penalty again hefty profit in a sleeper coach having only 72 seats capacity they earn full ticket money+250 penalty money for 400-500 people  since seats in sleeper are too less but profit is too much for railways, passengers who want to travel in sleeper have no other choice but pay the price

Why would railways deboard this Cashcow crowd from train who is forced to pay more than that of normal reserved passengers

Those who are blaming population for everything and make offtopic and irrelevant comments on every other thread, if population is virus then who they are can you call a human being a virus? They should think how they took birth and are they not counted in population, 

If they think humans are viruses then elimination ki shuruaat khud se karni chahiye population will decrease itself

I am from bihar.. i lived 15 years in delhi.. so none can know better than me how bad during holi and deewali.. i think highest train run between delhi to patna..

All ticket should be reserved only.. no extra ticket should be alloted.. then it will be little good .. and why not make it like metros.. enter station with ticket only..

Why can't they make the trains longer by attaching more coaches to the same train? With more coaches, more passengers can be accommodated, right?

The present Train length in India seems to be too small to accommodate the rising demands of population and travel in our country.

Neither the Gov develops local jobs to reduce migrants , nor the people learn to follow rules 😢

(Festival Time.Friday Night) Happened With Me 6 Months Ago , Departed At Hyderabad Station.... Train Travelled 50kms... 50 Squad/Tc Wait At Next Stop... They Entered All Bhogis And Sent Out Non-Reserved People.

nowadays especially in hr Delhi-hyderabad/bangalore/chennai routes , TTE will collect bribe and people stand /sit in 3rd ac.

only way to avoid this TRAVEL ONLY IN ALL a/c trains like Rajdhani 3rd  ac or 2nd ac where sleeper people can not get in the middle of the night.

Have you seen anything so complicit in private vehicles?

This is pure appeasement to avoid public ire, these people should be deboarded by deputing paramilitary since existing staff cant deal with crowd as they are outnumbered, do it for a month or two and this won't be happening again.

As expected as railways reduced sleeper coaches a lot so now crowd shifted to 3AC,

then railway sell 400 wait list ticket per 720 seats or something like that, so even though it's impossible to accommodate so many wait list passengers they sell those and earn on offline wait list ticket, and offline WL ticket holders think its their right to travel like this cz they r paying railway

Then comes corrupt tte who takes bribe and allow this people or corrupt rpf who don't take action even if u complain on railmadad if its some special parts of the country

This happens only during vacations, holidays, and for very specific routes only. Maybe <1%

These are the people who don't want to pay and travel for free! Whatever you will do, nothing can be done for such mindsets ruined by freebies (revadis).
