Wait for 2 days, you will get refund email. And refund in source after one week of auto cancellation. Check easemytrip app to know status as it only gets updated after the ticket journey date have been passed.
Train ticket cancellation issue.

Yesterday morning I received a message from IRCTC that the booking for today was cancelled due to Cyclone Jawad. But till date I haven’t received any ticket cancellation email from IRCTC. I had booked the ticket via EaseMyTrip. Do I need to cancel the ticket myself? I think that might incur additional charges vs automatic cancellation?
Also in case of train cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances it seems the ticket has to be cancelled within 3 days of the scheduled departure. I don’t think it applies here though.
"Cancellation of e-tickets in case of trains cancelled:
If the train is marked as “CANCELLED” in PRS due to breaches, floods, accidents etc. full refund is permissible in case the ticket is cancelled within three days of the scheduled departure of the train. In case of e-tickets, such cancellations can be done by the customer through Internet."
I did contact IRCTC customer care via email. The response was prompt but they completely sidestepped my main query.

In EMT booking status currently shows as “Completed”. In IRCTC “booked” but digging deeper it informs that the train is cancelled.

Then, chat with EMT executive, and clarify this issue. I used to book tickets from Amazon and their system is amazing in tickets booking and in tickets refund as well.

Yes. Currently on a call with EMT CC.
Edit: Not helpful. They don’t have any info if cancelling the ticket from my side will incur any additional charges or not.
Patience is the answer to all your questions.
No action requured from your end, dont cancel the ticket from your end.
Indian railways will issue refund, then irctc will process it then to EMT and then to AZ.
Expect notification of cancellation in 2-3 working days post departure date and refund credit in 7-10 working days.
I know the system is highly inefficient but this is how it is with so many parties involved in the process, in case of window ticket you would have got instant refund on presenting the ticket at the window.
But the convenience (and cashback, if any) will have to be foregone.

Agree… This is how it works.
If even after 10 days you don’t receive refund, you can always file for TDR…
@LIMBO
What is the Journey date?
if the Journey date is today, then after chart preparation the PNR status will show Train Cancelled. Then No need for any action at your end. All thinks will Happen automatically.
There are 2 scenarions.
1. Train Fully cancelled – Refund will happen automatically
2. Train partially cancelled – We have to cancel the Ticket / Raise TDR as per the timelimes.
u can share ur PNR no in DM, will check and give u more info on this.
