Hi. I need to travel from B to D (route A -> B -> C -> D ) and need to board a train that travels from A to D (however it doesn't stop at B), so I catch the train at C. My question is if I book a ticket from A->D and change the boarding station to C, can I use the same ticket to travel on another train from B to C (say an hour ago)?

If general ticket, then yes. [But, boarding station can't be changed in these]
If reserved (SL, 3AC), no according to norms.

Applicable for unreserved not for reserved
for unreserved only
NO
No you can't travel.
Book ticket from B to C in seperate train or travel with unreserved ticket.
Or travel without ticket (take platform ticket)and if TT comes manage it or hide in bathroom
For example i booked ticket from the platform counter from warangal to rourkela( got a seat in dhanbad express from vijaywada to rourkela and one seat from warangal to vijaywada in a different train)
From warangal to vijaywada i was charged 30 rs only. if i would have booked separate charges would be around 150.
That is called Blank Paper telescopic fare ticket
