Hi Guys,
Very soon one of my family member is traveling to US on work visa,
Can you recommend the items which we can take there from India?

Prescription meds along with recent valid prescription. Health care is expensive abroad. Take a routine dental and eye checkup. Make three pairs of specs if possible and carry them with you. You gonna thank me.

In addition to what others bikidas2060 above said,
the state/location too matters.
some places might be like oven/ central India
others might see regular snowfall in winters.
And while Target, Bestbuy, Walmart still offer dirt cheap stuff
never hurts to better prepare oneself for the weather.
About carrying 'three' sets of prescription glasses, I feel is a bit excessive as people/ colleagues (friends) would often be coming back to U.S. from India.
If number/power changes or id one of the two or more sets gets damaged.. arranging it back from India would not be that difficult.
But yes, it would not be same as having tried everything on their own.
About prescription meds. and home made desi 'nuskha', be sure to have the passengers cross check that border control do not throw hissy-fits like they sometimes do in European countries and almost always do in Australia.
As per age, allergies and medical conditions (if any) they have to just generally be aware of what works and what does not (for which they got to be careful).
Depending on baggage allowance and how much one craves for their XYZ made so and so snack, pickle or other stuffs
once in a while taking some of those home-made or specific shop/brand made items is all one would initially miss.
The Craigslist, Facebook type markets, groups there and now messenger application groups make it rather easy to connect with others for any requirements or garage sales, fire sales of items.
There is no embarrassment in even taking second-hand winterwear overcoat or hiking footwear or home utility items.
