Union bank issue rupay platinum card to all account holders. Even to zero balance basic account holders. Only one card will issue per account. You have to maintain Rs 5000 while apply for rupay platinum card. Otherwise the computer will not allow it. I verified from branch. After applying for rupay platinum we can withdraw that 5000. charges is 100+gst
Annual charges are waived in BSBDA/BSBDS accounts and also in accounts where the account holder does 40 POS/E-comm transactions in previous year.

Online not possible. Put an email to your Branch with written request and signature. Call your branch and ask them to check emial. they will take request

Rupay platinim is enough for amazon loot. But it has no contactless function. It cost only 118 with gst

Yes working on amazon.
Union bank holders need to load minimum 5k to get RuPay Platinum debit card, after card apply. you can withdraw your balance.
I have old corporation bank acc which i didn’t use since 7yrs
As corp bank is merged with union bank if i show corp bank pass book now and ask to activate account.. Wil they activate n give me debit card?
Ideally, they would ask you to write a formal letter to manager for re activating the account.
And then you should be good to take Debit card and use it.
In the welcome kit I saw a brochure which says Lounge access in 500+ lounges internationally 2 times/year is this for real?
if it has is it through priority pass or something, I couldn’t find any information about this in their website or card page and also I guess for lounge access it is mandatory to have your name printed in the card?

If you open an account offline in Union Bank by going to the branch in person, what is the process for getting the instant kit (non personalized) RuPay Platinum? Do you have to take ₹5000 cash or use mobile banking or something to transfer before the computer allows a RuPay Platinum? 😊 Also are instant kits available only for regular savings account or USDA, or also for BSBDA?
Some of the branches have Rupay Platinum instant kits as well as Visa Cards.. If you want only Rupay Platinum, just check with them before accepting the instant kit..
You have to either add 5000 by cash or transfer.. as their system does not allow processing either instant or Personalised card if there is not enough balance..

500 AMB is only for SBGEN without Cheque Book
Spoke to BM / RM while collecting Passbook / DC regarding 40+ transactions. They said as long as the transaction of type “sale”, there is not spend limit criteria. They did not explicitly agree that there is no minimum amount for the transaction, just that it has to be of type “sale”

I have debit card with limit 25k per day and I haven’t seen any debits yet
So I went to my nearest Union Bank branch and as expected the lady there wasn’t cooperative at all about opening BSBDA account. She flat out lied that RuPay Platinum wasn’t available on BSBDA even if I deposited Rs.5000. I guess I will find some other Union Bank branch.
Finally I opened a Union Bank account at another branch. The person there was grumpy too when I asked for RuPay Platinum debit card. Lied to me that I will need to deposit at least 30000-35000 before they can issue RPP. 🙄 Really? For a 0-balance UDSA account 🤨I did so and finally they issued personalized (will arrive in 15 days) as they were out of instant kits.

Will UBI allow me to open new account or if I open new account will they deduct charges form new account for old account. any idea ?
As you already had an account, when you try to open, they can see you have an account and the internal ID can be same..
It would be better to write a letter and give to manager to re-open that account and pay off (or request manager to wave off negative charges) if the negative balance is low..
Well one good thing Union Bank has is UDSA (Union Digital Savings Account). can be opened online, 0 balance, has RuPay Platinum card.

Pata nahin kab aaya but I just Googled a few days ago and found it out. KYC online submitted but they insisted on physical photocopies of Aadhaar and PAN which I submitted to nearby branch. However it was much easier and faster than filling out lengthy form of account opening at the branch. They said the account was already opened online very quickly. Surprisingly good experience from a nationalised bank.
Also, their netbanking seems to use the same software as Bank of Baroda - very similar UI, but has 2 extra handy options - one to change the user ID to a friendly form instead of some cryptic numbers and letters, and another very nice option to turn on email OTP besides SMS.
You got RuPay Platinum ? R u sure na ? because union bank website mentioned, this account holder get RuPay Classic debit card.
According to this at least: https://www.unionbankofindia.co.in/english/uds.... there is no monthly minimum balance requirement but I’d recommend keeping a minor amount there anyway (₹1000 or so just so they don’t unfairly charge you suddenly for not maintaining AMB). They haven’t deducted charges for the debit card yet but I believe they are the same as @UDEMYCOURSES mentioned in the first post. ₹100+GST. It’s been a month since I opened the account online but around 15 days since I got the debit card.

Once to finish KYC and deposit money, and many days later to collect debit card (they didn’t even bother to notify, no tracking of when debit card arrived – nothing).
But better than other banks I tried – Indian Bank, UCO Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of India where I opened account by going to branch, then have to go again after few days once account is opened to request RuPay Platinum debit card via special ATM card form, and then 3rd time to collect it (if some banks don’t send it to home address).
According to below link classic debit card would be issue free of charge and Amc is applicable.
I just shared my own experience. AMC is definitely applicable – at some point they will definitely charge debit card charges – maybe at start of financial year like SBI used to do for my accounts, but so far UBI haven’t deducted.
Yes it says classic but I opened online account and chose NO for debit card. Then went to branch, gave KYC documents again, deposited some cash + some money via UPI, asked about RuPay Platinum and they agreed as long as I did initial funding of ₹30000 total. Maybe they made up some rules but I got the card. Your experience may not be the same at your UBI branch since we know how bank employees behave but we know now that for this type of 0 balance account, issuing this card is possible. 😌
I am not able to use rupay platinum debit card for online transaction even though after activating the same in the mobile app of union bank of india. Can withdraw cash and do pos transactions but for the online I am not even getting the otp page
