I am on Jio fiber 699/ plan, 100 Mbps, postpaid quarterly plan. I was using old fire stick and the remote is broken now. I was considering upgrading to jio fiber 799 plan, with OTT. The app shows free STB and I have to pay an extra 100/ month for the OTT. Does anyone have experience with this? Do I have to pay anything extra for this? Coz I mostly watch youtube only with the TV.
My options are either to get a new 4K firestick for ~3k or get a Jio TV STB. Dimers, please help me to figure out.
If you are thinking to upgrade Firestick, get FS 4K max.

What is use of stb? In jio fiber?

Call cc and ask for box. You can close plan after 1 month too. Another option is to close this account and get new connection with stb. They are giving it free with advance rental.

Download firetv remote app from playstore and keep using old firetv stick
Even though you watch only youtube you will slowly start watching web series or movies on other OTTs.
OTT majors like SonyLIV, Zee5, and Hotstar comes with 899+GST plan same 100Mbps
I have been using the 999 plan (14 OTTs + 150Mbps) for almost 3 years. I only use JIO STB because it has all the OTT apps. I rarely use Firestick.
so for an additional 200 per month for OTT apps and STB or Buying a new fire stick is your choice.

It feels awkward to have a 65" Tv in the living room without a connection. I have a tata sky set top box I rarely used. I think I will go with JIO STB, I already have access to many OTTs that I got through my airtel postpaid. I rarely had chance to use them.Even though you watch only youtube you will slowly start watching web series or movies on other OTTs.

i have been using JIO stb for more than a year. UI is super smooth. All ott apps are there. Better to close connection and buy jio postpaid fiber with advance rental where you get jio stb free. i will recommend as im using daily.

once you active them in their STB, you can use anywhere... similarly every time you recharge jio , you have to open the app atleast once in their STB only then the subscription life time increases in the OTT app... lets say you recharge for a month... all the premium membership will be valid 1 month. when you recharge JIO after that one month, you have to open those OTT apps in STB to reflect new end date .
regarding interface, its highly customized android os. but we cannot install ant app we want, it must be coming from their store. no side-loading possible.
Remote - works fine just like any other remote... voice search is good.. other than that nothing special...
youtube casting alone you can do...

I have a Mi Box and I use Kodi JioTV + Pikshow. I used to have Airtel DTH (360 plan) + using Local ISP along with Mi Box. I need to upgrade my ISP to Airtel/Jio now, so which one would be better for DTH+Broadband? Need help on this 🥲
