Earlier sms used to come after service validity expiry (even after 7 days grace period)
Now only Vodafone own SMS comes after grace expiry
No other incoming SMS

These were one of the advantage Vi had over Airtel especially if one were using it as their secondary number. But it seems they don’t think it that way and hell bent on copying Airtel’s model.

Jio bhi freeloaders ko remove krke ARPU increase kr rha hai . No free incoming 
for freeloaders . Ye bhot accha kaam start Kiya hai jio jald se jald sabhi free/inactive users ko deactivate Krna chahiye taaki jo paisa de rha unka service quality improve.
Vi ko bhi 1gb/day for 7day wala free plan. stop kr dena chahiye . No recharge – no IC/OG sms/calls for freeloaders

Atleast basic sms and incoming should work
If they really want us to pay allow using main balance for all plans Atleast
Why they are keeping topups then. Remove it altogether

Main balance ka jamana gaya ab 
Mene bhi vi me 2300+ balance tha but sab use kr liya us time advance rc krke .
Ab last 2 years me no main balance top up recharges . Only unlimited plan + 30-40 rs main balance for emergency premium numbers calling

+1. Haven’t been able to use even a single paisa of the 3700 TT across my Airtel nos. Thankfully at least in my circle Vi again allowed the use of main balance for activating UL packs a couple of months after the last tariff revision.

Switch off mobile. Don’t read Vi message. Ignore them. When you need any OTP only then switch on. It works.

Have face this too but much earlier probably 1-2 months back.
They stopped my incoming messages too but once I did a recharge it’s again working like before even right now I am on no plan with incoming call & messages working fine.

How or why did you load 3700 TT in prepaid mobile numbers anyway assuming it was not some loot/offer in which case it isn’t really a loss?

No. Tried many app OTPs
Even did p2p sms
The only sms that are coming are Vis own SMS.
Even after recharging for 99, sms were not coming instantly. It took multiple attempts at flight mode, changing 4g mode etc

Why wouldn’t I recharge my own nos.? In the years past more than full talk time was a thing. That coupled with offers from Freecharge and Paytm back in the day. Greedy Mr. Mittal and his cohorts came up with a fine plan to exploit the users fully knowing the regulatory bodies won’t do a damn thing.

Switch to Jio, I was skeptical about Jio from starting but last year I ported 3 postpaid number to Jio prepaid and 4 prepaid numbers as well. Jio has a bad habit of putting my number to switch off or unreachable but that is acceptable as it informs me about the missed call. Incoming calls and sms are aways enabled even if you don’t have an active plan.

The jio call issue you described happens frequently on my mom’s mobile we have the same device ,jio network and same area but the strange thing is only mom’s sim has this problem of call sometimes not connecting

It happens to all my Sims but not always. Noticable on those Sims which are frequently used.

It's been 3 months since your post. So, would like to ask you about the experience. Are you getting all incoming calls, sms even without recharge? Didn't you get any call from jio to recharge? What is your experience so far?

Incoming is there but, I get a missed call alert (message that someone was calling me.) Sometimes people complaint that they called.

Sometimes bank OTP are delayed, maybe others are delayed as well and I only notice banking OTPs as I am expecting them already.
