Hi guys,
What happened to these sites, most of those not opening like homeshop18, yebhi, fashion&you, 99label, zovi, inkfruit etc , I am curious to know founder and ceo of these companies doing what nowadays.
Also snapdeal, paytm mall looks like some local website now.
Missing those good old days. Now living in Amazon n flipkart monopoly.
They are the ones who built trust on online shopping experience. Sadly they are no more in the market.
U mean they built the trust ?homeshop18, yebhi, fashion&you, napptolā¦???
They are busy doing businesses with themselves now.. enough of fooling public!
There was Tradus as well. I remember buying an iphone from them way back in 2010. What days!
Was frequent on Tradus. Had placed more than 5 orders from them. They had pretty good coupons which when combined used to give great deals. Par afsoos ab Tata. Bye-bye. Khatam. š„²
Meanwhile the founders/co-founders after reading OPā¦
Most of the chor sellers have sifted to Myntra now. If this continues, very soon myntra will join this list of dead site.
Customer āunfriendlyā support is responsible for mushrooming of chor sellers in a site leading to angry buyers and loss of trust in the site.
Was frequent buyer on inkfruit but it got shut and was acquired by zovi, Homeshop18ās Superdeals were awesome, bought many things from them, Yebhi shined in those days but the buzz was short lived, also pepperfry in those days use to list electronics products, apparels etc before turning into full fledged furniture store pepperfry use to provide many coupons, then there was one called Greendust for refurbished productsā¦ good old days
Snapdeal is still around their target markets are mostly towns and rural areas
infibeam too.
though infibeam e-commerce business stopped but its CCAvenues running.
Currently no e-commerce company is in profit. so it is difficult to survive for small players.
I liked their book deals. Bought my first powerbank from infibeam.
Homeshop 18 was Closed by Reliance Industries Ltd (2018), RIL Acquired its Parent Company Network 18 in the years 2012-13.
Shopclues is still there, selling Chindi Samaan ,The founder Dinesh Agarwal has also Founder and CEO of DROOM
Tradus
Letsbuy
Fashionara
Letsbuy was acquired by flipkart.
I purchased first item online from Letsbuy
Yes, one of big loots, sadly company canāt survive.
Nearbuy restaurant free deals. Hair salons loot deals I donāt remember that startup.
These websites are victims of free market because they had nothing to attract repeat customers.
Nice thread, nice memories.
Ebay: Cheap Chinese TAT
Indiatimes/Rediff Shopping: Horribly bad knockoffs
Infibeam: Good books. Electronics deals were good.
Bought a 0.5MP webcam that would make Katrina Kaif look like a beggar.
Jabong: Okay, nothing special
Pepperfry: LEDs, Power Sockets and many many things at a great discount when they were a marketplace
Paytmmall: Incredible deals before Buffett invested. Plenty of 90% cashback deals.
Bought a TV for 850. Couldnāt sleep well at night with excitement. It turned out to be a toy.

I still remember i gad bought digicam from tradus.in in GOSF 2012ā¦.
Anyone remember TIMTARA.com š¤£ I had bought digital camera from that site. Then lots tshirt from INKFRUIT. Cheap electronic items from eBay, books from infibeam, gfās dress from fashion&you, 99label. Shoes/chappal from yebhi.
ā¦.many guys can counter this with claims like funding etc but it takes guts to burn money to increase businessā¦.a salaried guy will never understand the pain of doing businessā¦
ā¦I have nothing but fond memories and love to see them back in any which wayā¦
Thatās true. Respect to them except those few who later turned frauds š
Naptol was fake , m wondering how ShopClues is surviving.
Naptol worked for me
Mai to yeh soch rha ye sb kon hai
I still remember those askmebazaar flat coupon deals. Got SD cards for a throwaway price.
around 2016 time shopclues for ticket compliments cards with mobikwik š¤£š¤£.. golden days
Nice memories indeed
Before Ebay, there was Baazee.com where I shopped for the first time (2002, I think). Baazee was acquired by ebay.
From India times, I purchased my first āSmart Phoneā .. i.e. Cingular 8125 .. It was 2006, I think.
ā¦ still have this phone with box
After mention in forum snapdealĀ :-
I am using jab se Timtara site pe loot deal ati thi
Anyone from that era ?
Homeshop was better than naaptol. And snapdeal was providing good service but one misunderstandings and boycott after another (eg idiot goons calling for boycott of snapdeal after snapchat ceo said something ) it fell down hard.
Snapdeal had internal problems. š Me n my friends were betting that Snapdeal would fail. It failed. š It gave away tons of discount n failed to capture the heart of many. Same thing with eBay. Flipkart on the other hand had started humbly n steadily. They gave me some discount coupons to buy books. They had given these little bookmarks. Amazon has a shiploads of money to burn. Snapdeal and FreeChargeās https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/info-tech/... expensive merger backfired. The management was poor. The CEOs acted like as if they were in the casino. Paytm Mall tried to be a cheap mall. And nobody wants a cheap mall, not even poor people.
Brain dead goons also called for boycott French items. Now a days emotions sells more than logic.
