Hey Guys!
I was planning to open a new savings bank account in a private sector bank
I am very much confused between these banks – HDFC Bank – Axis Bank Or ICICI Bank
It would be very helpful for me if you guys can suggest which bank should I go with as I’m very much confused
Please note that I don’t need zero balance account and all these banks have branches near my house which makes choosing more difficult for me
Please consider all points specially customer service and guide me
Thanks a lot

1) ICICI
2) Hdfc
3) Axis
I have icici account and it is titanium account
Having account since 12 years and no major issues
No idea of hdfc and axis
Are you satisfied with the services brother? Specially the customer support?
Indusind Bank is the best.
ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank both provide good services. You can go with either one. Make sure you get 0 balance bank account.
I don’t have personal experience with HDFC but I have been ICICI user from last 15 years. No problems whatsoever with daily banking stuff.
The only problem I have with them is that they waste lot of time to suggest their 100s of services even if you came for a 5 min work like withdrawing money from your account. They also push you very hard to signup and buy those services like FD, insurance, more accounts etc etc. Their executives don’t often think about the best interest of customers but try to sell them as much as possible and make their commission.
Because of that I have 4 ICICI accounts myself. My brother have 3. Whenever I approached them for a new service (Demat account, Locker etc), they opened a new account to make their monthly/quarterly quote. They mentioned that I could not get a locker if I do not open a new account. Such BS. Even after that they were pushing me to buy a FD or open a new savings account for my 2 year old daughter. WTF.
I was keep doing whatever they suggested for first 5-6 years and when I had enough, I told them that I will be taking my business to other bank. I will be lowering my transactions but they didn’t care.
Go with ICICI bank but don’t get trapped in sweet talk.
ICICI
imobile make things easy
I am quite happy with my kotak account, no Bs, overselling, plus 6% interest. Though i have hdfc also.
How is the HDFC Account brother?
Each bank has its pros & cons. Service depends not just on bank but branch staff as well.
As you do not have any limitation of zero balance so I would suggest you to go ahead with HDFC Bank Accouint.
1. Customer Support (Branch)
HDFC branch level customer support is mostly good viz. any other bank
2. Customer Support (Online)
HDFC support is less responsive then ICICI. ICICI replies are pointed on queries whereas HDFC will resolve issues but may not reply.
Problem occurs when you have issue with some offer benefit not received. It may take longer time with HDFC but I believe that won’t be a deal breaker considering other pros.
3. Offers
ICICI is very aggressive in offers but yet HDFC is far ahead in benefits. HDFC Smartbuy for debit cards give 10% on Amazon, Flipkart & other e-Com each month. They are primary partner for most E-Com offers.
4. Credit Card
Probability of getting a good credit card at no fee is more with HDFC. Once you open account within few months you may expect Lifetime Free Credit Card offer via netbanking.
5. Mobile App / Netbanking
HDFC netbanking is far more clean & easy to access then ICICI.
HDFC latest mobile app is good but iMobile fares little better but yet both lack the ease few other bank apps have. So here result is neutral.
6. Overall
I would recommend you to go with HDFC bank as first option.
@Gaurav_G go with ICICI services are better then HDFC
unless u state ur req and the purpose no one will be to guide u properly.
icici is good among the 3 for services and convenience but in terms of offers and rewards hdfc is good among the 3.
I have ICICI account for last 19 years. Started with a salary account. Then added demat/trading account, credit card, PPF, Housing loan, Wife’s account, Child account and Sukanya Sammriddhi Account in my daughter’s name. In 19 years, I had to visit a branch only less than 20 times. Their online service is really good and the site is well developed and takes care of 99% banking requirements, thought the mobile app is not so good. Had hassle free service so far. However, when visiting branch, you need to be firm on what you want and not allow them to talk about useless things that you do not need. I once has to pointedly tell a new fella that as a premium customer who have visited for banking service, I expect that to be done first and if I do not get it the way I want, I will file complaint with their head office. After that, never had to listen to any sales pitch in that branch.
Also have Axis Bank account for 20 years. Good service without any issues, though not my primary account.
I have account with ICICI, HDFC and Axis
ICICI is best and Axis is worst
as per my 6 years experience with them
Hdfc best.
icici puts per day limits in upi and netbanking transactions.
although customer service is better in icici than hdfc.
For credit card no one beats hdfc.
ICICI UPI limit is one lakh per day THROUGH imobile and through third party apps 10,000 per day
IMPS 10 LAKH per day what else you need?
ICICI allows 1lakh UPI payment through imobile
I can’t view comments in the second page
HDFC is Best

Opened Digisave Account just 2 weeks back
Thanks to all of you for your guidance
Funny part is they gave me ₹650 worth of Times Point Debit Card (as issuance was free)
Now I don’t know what to do
I’ve hdfc bsbda account can i upgrade it to higher or not ?
Of yes which hdfc account is good to upgrade ( i can fund 10k in this)
And is it good to go with idfc first bank (25k fund)
Or any other good Account with best in offers on online purchase …
I have experience with HDFC, ICICI, AXIS, IDFC
I give priority like
1) IDFC (but this is not in your list) -using it mainly because of 7% interest but found good. using for 1.5yr. Customer care is excellent. nearest branch is around 5km away but never needed to go there even for kyc. You can consider it even branch is away.
0 ATM fee, 0 IMPS charge, 0 NEFT schedule charge.
2) HDFC/Axis – using for more than 11yr. Home branch both bank are around 15km away from home but rarely needed to visit home or other branch. Customer care service excellent.
3) ICICI – using it for more than 7yr. Worst experience. for last ~2 year ICICI ATM service is worst. I kept it open just because i have iWish(RD) of 8.45% running. For me, customer care email reply never to the point. I suggested HDFC and AXIS to my 2 friends who were fan of ICICI for more than 15year. They felt HDFC much better than ICICI.
ICICI netbanking is very complex. HDFC netbanking is very simple to use.
I feel same for ICICI .. its always worst. Better avoid.
@Par_ ICICI imobile is the best mobile banking app(hdfc mobile app don’t even come close). Axis bank only interacted once for opening of an acc & found them to be the worst pvt sector bank I interacted with till now. It all depends on the branch in case of big banks. On the other hand IDFC service has been pretty good for me as well as some of my friends all located in different cities far from each other.
@srigem81 Check out the hdfc ltf amazon voucher deal thread, people bashing hdfc like anything.
I feel HDFC mobile app much better than ICICI because it is simple to operate. In app, i just need to see transaction and fund transfer.
Also, recently i lost my wallet so i needed to block my DC & CC. With HDFC, just withing 20-30 second i was able to block and reissue both CC and DC from app but with ICICI it took me around 40-45min; app was not processing request, netbanking was not processing it and needed to call customer care. Even after 15 days i have not reissued my CC or DC of ICICI. branch says call customer care, customer care says visit nearest branch.
I am saying bad review about ICICI not only for one branch but all 6-7 branch visited till now including 2 branch of other city…
You must have good experience with ICICI till now….
Currently one dipute going with ICICI that i went to branch to activate APY because netbanking was not processing it. Instead of taking physical application employee and branch manager said me to activate in other bank. I recorded video of both and sent to ICICI customer care e-mail…
Guys what’s the best public sector bank which offers a trouble free mobile app? SBI? Like an app which always works, or allows you to take screenshot etc., you know the deal.
I ditched the tumour from my body, I mean closed the Bank of Baroda a/c hence looking to open a new savings account.
Any reason you want public sector bank only ?
For mobile app..ICICI bank is the best (I will say they have the best online experience…)
ICICI!
Net banking and mobile app is easy to use unlike that of HDFC.
Also, customer care is really, they have reversed charges for almost everything for me, including cheque bounce fee.
Icici in terms of service
Hdfc for offers
@ithehappy Just curios, what problems did you have with BOB? i am a BOB customer now since the previous bank was merged with this and wondering if i should retain or close it
No online banking accessibility, despite applying for the same. Upon entering user and pass one day it just said reset your password and since then I was not about to login to that shit.
Regarding their Mconnect app, it doesn’t let me take screenshots from the Passbook section even (i can guarantee some moron will cite security measures here) that was enough to piss me off as i was not about to share payment details with payee, then from last week, after a wipe on my phone and installing the app back it keeps saying that I’m registered on a different device and i need to deregister from that device to able to use the app on this device.
Other than the fact that after 10 PM you won’t be able to check balance via the app and pop up greeting with service unavailable.
I can guarantee there’s not a single bank which can ever be this third class in customer service. Even Uco back is better, yes, I’m not joking.
Just have a look at this screenshot of Play Store review (there are like 50 users who reported the same problem in last 2 weeks): https://i.imgur.com/hn4b1...pg
Open in new window and zoom in.
If you believe in God, and decide to close the account (I’m not asking you to, that’s totally on you), then just go give some 10 rupee puja in honour to account closure. Fucking cancer.
@Roushh @A2Zdeals @G33kBoyRavi @hiban and others please suggest
