Hi Guys , One of my Postpaid sim was on Vodafone and I am paying a monthly bill of 352 on this , I want to know if any better prepaid plan is available in the market which will give Unlimited calls , Daily data is not required and a monthly data of 5-6 GB will work as I wont be using much data on mobile. From your experience please suggest me the best plan as I will be porting out of this Vi Drama and shift to some prepaid plans , BSNL is not available in my location.

https://app.spreadsheet.com/workbooks/embed/Rbz...

I was able to consolidate all the plans available today in the market from all the operators in the link above, hope this will help you too in selecting the best plan , please suggest if any modifications can be done in the list.

Approximately 130 Prepaid Plans are available in the Market Today from the 4 Major Telecom Operators

You can sort and filter the plans as per your need and find out the best as per your requirements.

Vi - Rs 118, 12GB data with 28 days SV. No calling benefits included. No OG SMS is allowed.

Jio - Rs 181, 30GB data with 30 days SV.

Why Prepaid ? Jio Postpaid is the cheapest and better than Prepaid. Jio Postpaid 199+ GST is the best in the market.

In case of shitty Airtel data vouchers don't have any validity of their own and are instead valid for the entire duration of the active pack. So in case of the annual 1799 pack for ex. the Rs 119,12GB data voucher should be valid for 1 year?

@LIMBO this Airtel trick pack seems to be a good One

After a super-duper crappy experience with Airtel over the last 14 months I absolutely hate even presenting Airtel as an option but of course other's experience might not mirror my own. So posted it finally albeit grudgingly. Not verified it personally.

₹395 plan in Jio which will give 84 days validity and 6 GB of data.

Upon subsequent need you can recharge with data plans like ₹121 for 12 GB, ₹61 for 6 GB, ₹25 for 2 GB

Considering 6 GB per month usage cost should come around ₹517 for 84 days.

You can even opt for ₹666 plan which gives 1.5 GB/day data and you can grab some offer while recharging from other platforms which won't be possible in case of ₹395 plan as it's available on JIO app/website exclusively. Also have herd Apay wallet option is back on jio so check that too.

I don't know why they are launching 5G in India when they still can't even give 3G speeds in most places...I wrote the above in my complaint email too but I know for sure, they won't resolve anything by 6th Sept like they promised me in the email...

Like till about 1 year ago, everything was fine for me, I was getting like 50-60 Mbps from AirTel & Vi & after the launches of Unlimited packs & pack price hikes etc, I am struggling to get even 10 mbps download speeds at outdoor & in indoor, lol pages are not even loading properly & I have to use WiFi...

I don't know why should I pay for Unlimited packs when I'm getting like 2G speeds indoor...😑

I also don't know why so many people are going crazy for high priced 5G phones when most of us don't even get proper 3G speeds...

In a nice development Vi has blocked off recharges of over Rs 150 via USSD in KA circle . Airtel of course took the lead in this regard 15 months ago. AVOID resurrected. This was done sometime in the last couple of months but of course no need to keep the users informed of such a trivial change especially when TRAI is such a subservient organization. Balances in my Vi nos. makes those in my Airtel ones look like chump change. Oh well. Absolute monopoly by Jio couldn't have been any worse.

Airtel speed...Many times, the upload speed stays below 1 Mbps...

Vodafone speed...

What to do?? AirTel Nodal Team did not resolve anything yet...They had replied that my AirTel issues would get resolved by 6th Sept...Today is 3rd & no signs of any improvement...Like I knew it already, it's just a fake reply from the nodal team...They never wanted to help...It's just a fake escalation...Is there any way to raise a complaint with TRAI about an operator like we can do with banks by going to the RBI Ombudsman??

The incoming voice is clear in Vodafone but the data speed is still bad & little better than AirTel so, I am not sure if I should port my main AirTel number to Vodafone & port the Vodafone number to Airtel... sad

Changing the main Airtel number is not possible for me as this is linked with everywhere & will not be able to go to all the banks & Aadhar enrolment centers to update the phone number...

I recharge the 455 Unlimited pack on AirTel & 99 monthly pack on Vodafone..

Guys what happens to the Prepaid balance after porting?

AirTel will not help me atleast Nodal office did not...Like I wrote earlier, they just did a fake escalation & gave me fake complaint numbers...

I could still live with low data speeds as I have WiFi in home but no-one can properly hear us when they are calling our AirTel numbers, even AirTel to Airtel same case happening...My younger bro also has AirTel, he stays in another city...Today he called me & couldn't hear anything...

I think I will lose both the "benefits (LOL)" of the Unlimited pack & the Main balance after porting?? I have about 200+ in the main balance & my 455 Unlimited pack will expire after 27 days...I can wait till my pack gets expired but Is there any way I can utilize this main balance?? Any kind of recharge etc?? I never thought I would have to port out from AirTel as it used to give me the best service & connectivity than all other operators...This number is like 20 years old lol...

Gone are those days, I used to get atleast 3G connectivity even in the jungles of Dooars & at the upper birth of trains etc...I still don't want to move out from AirTel (long time attachment😌) but they forced me to take this decision...

I'm not paying for Unlimited Plans to get 2G speeds & worst voice connectivity...I'm not gonna buy a 5G phone to get better service from AirTel lol...Vi is not hugely better than AirTel but atleast there is no issue in the calling...

Vi site showing that everything will be done from my home...The porting request can be given online & the docs will be picked up from my home & the porting will be done within 4-7 days...Anyone did this?? Ported from another operator to Vi?? Is the process smooth & can entirely done from home?? Asking because this is my main number which I'm going to port...

I hope after porting out to Vi, Vi will not start to give the same or more inferior service as AirTel...What is the time period for a 2nd porting?? Just as a curiosity, can I again port in to AirTel from Vi in future??

My phone doesn't support VoLTE (imported from Singapore, only supports VoLTE in China), & I am not interested in taking a Jio sim as Jio doesn't support fallback to 2G/3G, so where there will be no 4G connectivity, I would get zero connectivity...

Ever since the launch of 4G, 2G calling quality has been atrocious in my locality in case of both Airtel and Vi. Hence holding onto years old Android devices because of VoLTE support.

If you PORT out the remaining balance will lapse.  After expiry of the current UL pack if you haven't disabled auto-debit Rs 99 pack will get activated. Otherwise dial *567*99# in the 1 day grace period following OG expiry. It doesn't seem to work thereafter. You need patience to stay with shitty Airtel for another 2 months though.

If case of PORTing to Vi online only 3 rather expensive packs seem to be available. Rs 99/129/155/459  calling oriented value packs aren't displayed. Offline more packs might be available and even free in some cases.

Edit: 90 days waiting period before you can port out again.

As expected, had lots of Airtel's technicians visits today...Million times Ookla tests on their own phones, asking me what model phone I am using (even after seeing the same issue on their own handsets), asking me to shut down phone, eject the sim & enter again, asking me what kind of apps I use on mobile data etc bullshit...Even a senior officer came with backlit keyboard wala MacBook lol to check the towers nearby on their own software & on Google Earth...

They finally left my home in the evening telling me that, they will forward the issue to their seniors & will let me know...They did some changes in the tower too but end result till now is a BIG ZERO...

Even they were getting download speeds of like 2Mbps & upload in some Kbps on their own handsets...Once they "luckily" got 1 Mbps upload on Ookla & told me that, it's the Standard Upload speed by AirTel in India...LOL...

It's clear they need to plant a tower because a senior position lady told me that on the phone that, there is no tower near to the locality but she's asking me to take permission from my locality for planting a tower which isn't possible for me...It's their job, not mine...Lacs of people live here & I can't chase people in our locality & try to convince them because an AirTel lady told me that they need to plant a tower in my area...Because, I lodged the problem, they did not & it's also not possible for me to find who is using AirTel prepaid connections in the locality & then ask them if they will allow Airtel to plant a tower...

Crappy network team couldn't solve the network issue even after working for 2 whole days...

Again got a call now from a Tower department who told me that they need to plant a tower/small cell poll or whatever on our rooftop otherwise the issue won't get resolved...I told him that, it's a multistory apartment where I live & except me, there are 11-12 other families live in this apartment & they will never give permission to plant the tower on the rooftop as not everyone using AirTel numbers here & having issues with the network....

But he will again come tomorrow...This crap won't stop...AirTel will just close the complaint that they were not allowed to plant the tower so they can't solve the issue...If it would have been my house with only my family staying, there would have been no issue of planting a tower but just because I am facing the problem, other families won't allow it & without everyone's written permission/NOC, this will not be possible...After trying so hard to solve the issue, hundreds of phone calls, emails, complaints on every possible channels, it seems this issue will not resolve... 😞

They may Put the tower in a nearby location, let's see what happens

Issue won't get resolved...I didn't allow them to plant the tower on our apartment's rooftop because it's not possible just because my family is having issues in the apartment & the official complaint on PGPortal was closed & no more response from local Airtel team...Now they can say, they wanted to help but I didn't let them...

Other operators are already providing good services here without planting any tower on anyone's roof but anyways...

I was recharging UL pack on Airtel & 99 pack on Vi but after my current UL pack expires, I will do the opposite...

Airtel activated Rs 155 pack from main balance in the one remaining bank regd. no today. Only 2 secondary nos. with total 750 odd balance are left to be dealt with. Just like earlier Airtel CC gave assurance that they will be available to help when I next need recharge but that's has repeatedly proven to be grossly untrue.

Airtel activated Rs 359 in one of the 2 remaining nos. Interestingly no deduction from main balance yet.
