Instead of windows Xp source code it’s better to concentrate more on linux ( unix ) kernel development which source code is IMO way too flexible and robust than windows

only bad is most applications doesnt work on linux. if devs can, android apps can work on linux and will be game changer. but big daddy google won’t allow.

Aap Pop OS use kijie naa. Best useful thing it has is to be able to create a separate EFI partition for GRUB during installation, without hassle. So, it doesn’t mess with Windows’ partition. 🙂🙂🙂

Unix sourcecode is no open-source. Closest thing we can do about it is to tinker with Free BSD. Linux kernel is also amazing. 🙂🙂🙂

i like zorin interface, being used to it since 2 years. had tried pop but didn’t find it as smooth as zorin. also zorin takes lesser place and have just 32gb ssd lappy with xp too on it. moreover had issues with efi file low space after installation which kept popping up on every boot which continued after removing pop. found out that pop takes 512mb of efi and zorin takes less than 256 hence the error. was tough time removing that error, searched hundreds of pages, saw dozens of youtube video. in all pop didn’t go well. sad

do not know if in the past 5-6 years, most organisations changed all their hardware, software.

but for Enterprise support, MS had continued to patch many old OSes.

Many, like maaaany still used old setups.
for instance, previously many IBM servers or other (customer used) machines for ATM’s front-end backend, machines talking to satellites and ones for International Space Station (ground support) or within the ISS itself too and many such applications in medicine or other legacy infra fields.. were all dependent on systems and exact processes they were first designed as.

frankly, most of those (industrial, defence or older financial services) usage scenarios do not even ‘need’ the so called latest OSes or msy not have much incremental funcitionslity; even if they moved from the existing infra to redesigning (or at-least tweaking) everything to fit-in with newer OSes.

Hmm. Pop takes 512 MB. 🙂🙂🙂 By default Fedora takes 1GB.
Please share your experience with Zorin OS. I have heard a lot of praise for it recently.

Since the sourcecode has been leaked, most probably purposefully by Windows they ll be forced to adapt to either linux or win 10 with new hardware.
I am 75% convinced that Microsoft has done this knowingly. 🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🤡🤡🤡 Acha wala XP vaccine lag jane ke baad. 💉💉💉💉💉saab 10 le lenge

takes about 2.5-3gb partition with libreoffice imp softwares. good for surfing, media player, hdmi connection with big screen. wine never worked for me so use xp for windows softwares like nest, excel with marcos, google sheets with auto updates (hangs on zorin) etc. in total zorin is for normal surfing, music, movies, web series etc and xp for official stuff.

putting them in the dock toungueout as though, they had something to do with it😆!

but i.. would surely be interested, if ever, Windoes 4 (aka Win95) or Win98 Second Edition (SE) internals get used to build customised, better, more stable alternatives.

Licensing of Unix DID give us excellent products like SunOS👌🏽, Solaris that were simply great for many ‘enterprise level’ applications (usage scenarios).

even Minix was a fairly robust OS for its time.

Do tag others or give your own opinion on it;
would it or would it not greatly benefit the user community, everyone AS ALSO to Windows OS itself, if MicroSoft made it open source or allowed cheaper licensing for others to fork it out (into need based variants, customised application builds)?

It IS a beautifully designed and (over the years) tweaked software (even if bits and pieces were ripped off from inspirations) and its engineers would only have admiration from others if they (others) got to check out the code.

Maybe it’s time to upgrade the machine. No??

no need, its feather weight, latest machine from us, fast 32gb ssd, ddr4, 4gb ram and 1080p screen. much faster than those 500gbs hdd, 8gb ram. does my work. dont require higher configs until i become a nasa scientist.

Ya old os use less memory and efficient too for small work new is want new hardware to run properly 😇.

if you can mention the name of the programs you are using on Xp .. will be more than happy to suggest alternatives for those. Also wine on Linux supports lots of windows programs.
