Hello Dimers, today i had opened HDFC Bank savings max account online. After filling basic details, aadhar authentication i got the option to select home branch (i live in Delhi). I selected the nearest one to me and then received the vkyc link. Vkyc was done successfully. I got the bank account no. and ifsc code. Then when i proceeded to fund my account in mobile banking app under profiles it was showing my home branch different to what i had selected. I googled and found out home branch showing was of Maharashtra. I was shocked how could it be possible since it wasn't even in available options to select. I called the customer care but as excepted they asked me to contact nearest branch. I had the no. of RM of branch which i had selected in my form. He told me that by default it shows home branch of place from where your vkyc was done by bank but once kyc gets updated it will correctly reflect the selected branch. Should i trust him since he told me with in a day or two it would be updated or he is lying 
. I have to give this account to my new employer till the end of this week. What should i do since IFSC code would be changed if i proceed to change home branch. In the app it is showing kyc pending but now from evening my debit card started reflecting.

u can try transfer 10rs to yourHDFC+anyHDFC-IFSC

HDFC Bank savings max account online - If it's online account IFSC code shouldn't matter much i suppose...

I want home branch to be of my nearest place which i can visit in need of some emergency. That why i haven't funded it yet. Just need clarification is it common practice of HDFC to show random branch as home branch or something wrong happened in my application. Also haven't received any welcome email from HDFC. Is closing this account and visiting nearest branch for physical account opening is an option? I read in their terms and conditions within 14 days of account opening one can close the account without any charges.

Home branch will be as per ur KYC so as RM said it will reflect correctly later
its not ur mistake most likely - HDFC system is pathetic so this confusion
After KYC validation u may get welcome email
Don't close else HDFC will create another big mess
Note: I never opened HDFC a/c online

Let's assume the home service/branch is set as a wrong one due to whatever reasons.
1. Whatever you can do in your service/home branch, you can do it from any branch. What special transactions are you looking for?
2. Changing your service/home branch is a pretty simple process

Let me decode it further hdfc's online accounts start with 50100, as you know first 3 digits are branch code so IFSC HDFC0000501 belongs to Mumbai Maharashtra Branch,
If you want an account number starting with your branch code don't open account online and don't take ready kit, apply through application form and you will get a different account number not starting with 50100

After how many days kit delivers to home??. Hdfc debit card is reflecting from yesterday and kyc status is pending.

In 5-6 days kit gets delivered. Kyc got updated in 9-10 days.
