In this thread you can us tell about various zero balance savings bank account with no fees and charges which are beneficial for adults with no income or students mainly but want to get bank discounts and offers in e-commerce sites like Flipkart , Amazon, Grofers , Bigbasket etc.
Conditions :
1. zero balance savings account
2. No Debit Card Issuance Charge & No Debit Card Annual Fees
3. No sms Alert Charges (preferable)
I have no problem with other charges like atm transaction charge , Chaque book charge , neft charges & Also high or low yield interest rates do no matter because I will not use these features , I will only use these banks for Debit card Discounts and offers.
Also it would not matter if their is Any MAB cause we want to get bank offers only.

HDFC BSBDA (Don’t know if debit card charge , don’t debit card annual charge , don’t know sms charges , zero balance)
ICICI MINE (Don’t know if debit card charge , dont know debit card annual charge , have sms charges , zero balance)
SBI PMJDY (No debit card charge, no debit card annual charge , no sms charge , zero balance)
KOTAK 811 (no virtual debit card charge , no virtual debit card annual charge , sms charges probably, zero balance)
AXIS (Dont know which account)
Keep correcting this list and add more banks and their charges & fees if any or charges.
there is no instant discount or offers on debit cards of the following banks , so no use for us.
PAYTM PAYMENTS BANK (No charges)
AIRTEL PAYMENTS BANK (No charges)
JIO PAYMENTS BANK (No Charges)

Yes,Its Good but ,if he wants Physical Debit Card and Cheque Bank then Charges are 237.55 (Including GST) AND Cheque Book (94Rs Including GST).
Also,he can not get Physical Passbook from Branch.

in hdfc open savings max account….25ooo MAb….you will get free platinum debit card/millenia debit card with no charges….no sms charge….it can be opend online and video kyc available
niyox account is also good option for now with high interest, completely free and debit is free for first year and i read somewhere they are planning to give good offers and free cards also

I’m using Axis Asap account from 2019 no charges except ₹15 SMS alert charges. ICICI Instasave FD account from last 1 year no charges except debit card yearly AMC charges.
Any idea whether icici is still offering icicifd account.

I do not recommend Axis at all.
Recently I hv also converted my Axis “Priority Account” to “Basic Savings Account” because of huge charges.

First of all, for a student account or a zero balance account, any bank say PSU or Private,they will Put Some Restrictions or Reduce some facility like See,You are not paying them MAB/QAB,You don’t want to pay Debit Card Charges(Issuance+Annual),Also you want to skip the SMS Charges.They are banks,they want to earn money by various kind of charges like Account MAB,SMS,DEBIT,etc!Private Banks hates this kind of things that’s why visit any Private Banks like ICICI,HDFC,Axis and ask them that you want to open a zero balance account ,they will suddenly not help you if is they did, they have no interest because private banks wants money,targets of account completion.
If you Choose PSU Banks,Choose SBI,BOB,CBI,etc (Note,Apart from SBI no banks will give you offer as PSU Banks are not famous for their offers.
One thing to Notice,These banks puts restriction like Smaller Cash Withdrawal Limit,Small Variant of Debit Card and Account Deposit Limitations and also UPI Transaction Limit Amount Restriction to 5000 or so,this is done because as you are a student and student should not do this kind of things like Heavy Transactions (5000Rs is Enough),Banks things These (STUDENT ACCOUNT HOLDER)Should not use his account as Regular Bank account.
I Opened my First Bank account with Central Bank of India in 2013 When i was Just 15 Years Old with a zero balance account (STUDENT) and Today still holding that it is a Proud Moment for me that still My Bank is helping me in any Way like If i have an issue,i sent them mail they reply me within 2 hrs and solve the issue and remember i havent visited my branch since 2017,If there is any issue na,they will help me via email or call because of Relationship (Over the years with Bank),They also provided me MASTERCARD DEBIT CARD at that time but after 2015 it was discontinued so,they sent me the PMJDY Debit Card and from that day till today i am using that card and now I have converted my Bank account to REGULAR ACCOUNT WHERE I NEED TO MAINTAIN 2000Rs and still i dont worry about charges and all, but If i take Rupay Debit Card then no charges.
Also,When i was a Student account holder CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA Never ever took SMS,MAB or Any kind of charges from me.
